I came to consulting from an industry where almost everyone had the same (or a similar) major. It seems that consulting takes all types—what was your undergrad major?

I don’t have an undergrad degree - I started straight out of high school after an internship in which I performed exceptionally well!

It doesn’t matter. At all. You just need common sense and the ability to think logically and linearly. You should also be even keel, able to command trust and respect and just a little bit crazy.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?

hi all, currently have two offers:

1: EY - FDD, home city, very good $$ for FDD

2: PwC - post-merger integration, DDV team (essentially M&A Consulting) - bigger city, always been keen to move

Coming as a Senior in Audit, with recent FDD exposure (2 deals, obviously not much). I was looking for something more than just number crunching, wanting a mix of quant / quali / strategic work. M&A Advisory or a Corp Strategy role is where I'm looking to end up long term.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone looking at traveling to Costa Rica? They have a list of states from which they will admit tourists while also requiring a negative covid test, health history, etc. As someone not on the approved list, I am bitter and curious why the population is grouped at a state level when there are massively different rates of infection within each state (not to mention personal responsibility) and you are already required to present a negative test. Any idea how often those lists get updated?
