Anyone feel as if it’s hard to stay with a company when you’re the only one of color? (&young) I’ve work for 3 companies in past 5 years and have yet to make meaningful colleague relationships. I just do not relate to the conversation and just find it hard to picture myself being a long-term employee. I’ve had better relationships when working at wal-mart when I was in college. I feel it takes away some of the joy of having to go to work.

How do you deal with stub years who are exceptionally bad? I’m not talking about general cluelessness which is completely expected and understandable, but turning in work product riddled with incomprehensible, grammatically incorrect sentences that would fail middle school English. How do firms calculate how much parental leave to provide, either paid or unpaid. Also just received unsolicited offer to be in house at young small company that will start at 200k and offer equity totaling payouts of low 7 figures over next five years but requires me to be away four nights/wk 2 hrs from home. May be able to work remote 2 days eventually. Life span of company is 5ish years. Married w/ 3 kids under 5
