Is phone support truly as bad as TikTok makes it seem? I am starting a new remote job soon, and the negative things I see about phone support is scaring me away!

I feel that you should not use that source to make decisions or even to worry about it, every job has its ups and downs, but it all depends on your effort and your goals in the company you work for.

Their TikToks would get far fewer views if they focused on the good parts of their jobs. Don't let it scare you. Definitely, phone support can have its challenges, especially if you're working for a bad company. Give it a shot though, you might love it. Good luck with the new job!

Reason to switch : Relocation and family. But current firm allow remote permanently. I'm just not sure if I will like permanent remote. So I'm not in a hurry to make a move.

Im a contractor. Another firm has reached out for 100% remote work for basically a lateral move. I really like where I’m at right now. I’m remote but if I turn to FTE which is very possible later this year I would probably end up having to go in 1 or 2 days a week to NYC. My manager knows this is basically a dealbreaker for me. Should I let my manager know I have another firm reaching out but I really want to stay but I’d need to be a remote FTE? They mentioned several times I’m an asset.

Hello, I’m an associate (almost at the one year mark) at a midsize firm on the EPL team. I did about 2 years of employment law as a clerk during school and know that’s what I want to go into. I’ve asked for more EPL work but keep catching PI cases. I second-chaired an employment trial but don’t see any EPL work for the foreseeable future and wasn’t getting as much EPL exposure as I wanted before the trial. Any advice on a lateral move to a bigger firm with a broader range of EPL work?

I have an offer in hand by value labs and Accenture and I’m more leaning towards valuelabs. However, I’ve seen a lot of comment online which were made in 2022 and before as well that the job security is an issue in value labs and they will fire a chunk without any prior notice.
