I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

This is more company specific, post in your company bowl
You only keep what is vested; that’s the definition of vested. I would doubt you could get any proration but as BA said you have to look at your plans specifics.
D1 wow that’s horrible
Booz does the same (all 401k match vests December 31), but at least Booz does 6% match so it makes it more worth it
Agreed. At D the match gets posted once a year, in June
Look into your company's vesting schedule.
A little more info for you, OP. You’re not likely to get any pro ration because 401k is special. It’s not like, say, bonus where the policy says you have to be an employee on the payout date and you leave the day before and someone could sign off on an exception to pay you out.
401k is governed by federal law (ERISA). The firm can’t just say well the policy says she’s only 40% vested but we’ll throw her a bone and give her 60%. Not happening.
