Let’s say you work at a US agency and they open an office in Europe and invite you to go help launch it. Generally, European salaries are like half of American salaries. If you moved offices, would you expect your salary to get cut? Or is this a loophole to working abroad and still making American money?

Keep your permanent address and move temporarily, also more responsibilities.

Work for the benefits of generally a (Western) European peace of mind. Healthcare that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg for instance.

Have a friend who worked in Norway and they legally had a month's worth of time off. Unfortunately this gives free rein for more Norwegians - and their equally alcoholic Nordic cousins - to roam around the world and get wasted.

I'd say Brits are still the worst (and by that, I mean the most hostile) drunks though. 😂

Dollar parity now, so expect a salary at your level to be around 55-60k USD. Queue the trombone - wah wah wah waaaaaaaah!

Europe is an awesome place to live. If you’re not paying back a house in LA, but a place in Cleveland, why not? If you have a student loan, it could suck also.

I think you can expect to keep your salary.

Most likely will be adjusted to the local market. Budgets are also very different from the US- way smaller.

I don’t think that’s how the cost of overhead works. You would hire from a local market if that was the case, and a launch is temporary

I think if the agency asked me to move, I’m assuming I’d keep the salary. The situation isn’t so likely though. I generalise, but importing a US ACD to make European work has a higher chance of not achieving growth at the rate the agency would want, vs hiring local. Different cultures (and lower cost). The role you might expect to see be asked to make the move is Acc Mgmt; someone to run the local office.

Nope. Wouldn’t go if they did that to me

Hi! From a dual citizen working those roles.
I have a job in the UK, with a UK contract, but US pay. This becomes complicated if anything is made redundant or the US is having layoffs. You are suddenly stuck transferring to half the pay. During a non-recession it's good, during a recession god help you. However, most companies will pay you based on where the headcount sits. You're looking for a pretty unicorn role and it will be hard to find.

Welcome to that recession you mentioned

Really? What country? Our Western European colleagues are no savings at all. Even Poland salaries are only a modest savings.

But in ey india , I don't see any effect after declaring my investments.
Kindly help me how to declare investments so that there will be less tax deductions from my salary .
