My Dr. recently prescribed buspirone for anxiety. I’m scared to try it, especially since it’s supposed to be taken twice a day. Does anyone have any experience or advice on buspirone?

I take buspirone and have for years now. It’s very mild and it helps me manage my anxiety. Definitely no bad side effects except perhaps I get dizzy sometimes for a little if I take it on empty stomach.

like

I take in the morning and afternoon most of the time, although nowadays - after approximately 4 years on it - I mostly only take when needed. Haven’t had that issue of lethargy though.

What are your concerns with it? It wasn’t buspirone, but I started taking an anti-anxiety medication about a year ago. It did kind of worry me, potential side effects, plus it is doing things inside my brain?! But it worked well for me and gave me relief from symptoms. I think one of those things you need to have a lot of communication with your doctor about though, everyone is different.

You’re right. I’m going to start looking into another provider in the new year

Hi! Does anyone know what kind of knowledge is needed to crack the Data Scientist interview at Google?

I'm currently working in Marketing Analytics (primarily using SQL and a bit of pyspark). Apart from mastering SQL, I wanted to know from people working at Google what does it take to get there as a Data Scientist? (I'm very interested in Strategy Ops)

I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply.
Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.
