My parents offered to help...but now they want to come to every showing with me. Love them, but their critiques are stressing me out! How do I set boundaries?

For those that are home grown (at least 2 levels) into the PPMD level, how has your relationship with juniors that you’ve been close to from the start evolved? Have you had to pull away from them (intentionally or not) or are you just as close? Is the saying “it’s lonely at the top” rung true for you?

Been with my GF since college and we recently hit the 4 year mark. 1-2 years into our relationship I found out she had instances of micro-cheating (flirting with guys, talking to ex’s etc - but nothing physical) and we addressed it. To her credit and my knowledge, she’s been apologetic and great at respecting boundaries since, but I still feel the pain from her actions years ago (and have talked to her about it). Has anyone quit their job because of a relationship? I started my job 3 months ago and now my employer wants me to move to NY. My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

This is super weird but I feel like I can’t relate easily to people. Struggling with a friendship that has become toxic & fills me with anxiety. various factors have caused us to drift but it feels like nothing I say or do now is right. The issues seem to really come to a head for one when she is drunk, using it to air grievances with me. When sober she doesn’t feel like talking about it. It feels like we are pretending to be best friends because of history but the substance isn’t there and I just want out of it. Can anyone offer advice?

Would like some thoughts on a 2-br NYC condo my husband and I are considering. $250K HHI (no kids). No loans or debts, both have newish cars fully paid off.

Offer would be for $725K, with 10 percent down. 30yr mortgage @5%. We would need to include closing costs in the mortgage, to keep about $10k liquid. Monthly costs will be about $5k.

This unit is special, very rare (we’ve rented in the area for 10 yrs and know the local market well). Should we go for it?

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

Hi all! I’m new! I started the year off planning to save for a home for myself, then rates skyrocketed. So we’re holding off. Fast forward to the final quarter of the year and we were presented with the idea of a residential assisted living facility. The problem there is we’d still need to acquire property in order to run one. The only difference is the RAL would be a business and is already registered as such.
