"Highly sought after" in very niche roles. More general roles barely know what it is, or recognize it as extremely difficult but don't see an application for it in their role. Not equitable to an MBA. This coming from someone who's gone through the whole program (unfortunately)...
So getting a highly sought after certification for the fraction of the price of an MBA is a waste of time? Never looked at it that way
I know people don't value it enough in most finance jobs other than portfolio management or equity research etc. But I think I'm better at my job in FS having studied for the CFA and the CAIA than I would've been without it. If you're the sort who likes to get a deep understanding of stuff you work with, I say go for it. Don't do it for your resume.
Easy fix, dont take it. Huge waste of time.
"Highly sought after" LOL. Jesus youre in for a rude awakening
E1 and AK1, can you explain further? Taking level 1 after graduating with finance and accounting degree. What niche roles is this useful for?
Its not bad just not really worth the effort
It's interesting material, if you love finance, but very deep and for general consulting not applicable. I started it when I was doing valuations at a Big4. Even IB didn't seem to care about it. From my experience, only niche finance roles like valuations, or stock-focused roles like portfolio managers, hedge funds, etc
