Principal called me into his office in the middle of my work day to let me know I did not get the K job I interviewed for & that he had no intention of ever considering me for the job. He told me I wasn't professional because I went for walks on my lunch time, I left the building when my contractual hours were done, I didn't use any of my spare time seeing if he needed me to sub anywhere, also encouraged me to apply for all upcoming jobs but would never get them :) How toxic is your work place?

I was wondering if anybody on here has warned their replacement to basically run and not take the job?? I’m leaving my job next Friday due to a toxic boss that was hired three years ago. I have a week and a half to train my replacement who I really happen to like and I really feel like I need to warn her not to put down roots. I know I shouldn’t even be concerning myself with this, but I’m feeling a lot of guilt not telling her the real reason I’m leaving-has anyone done this?

Do you guys see ppl moving from a product strategy roles to product manager roles? I’m getting dinged in interviews because I haven’t seen a product through end to end implementation, I primarily work on the early stages and then hand off. I’ve been trying to shadow and volunteer on implementation side...any other tips? Background is 2.5 years in product strategy, 2 years corporate strategy, 3 years in marketing.

I’m 40 and recently transitioned to UX/Product Design. I completed a bootcamp, continue to improve my skills. I network, have coffee chats, attend virtual events, iterated my portfolio and resume. Everyone that I’ve spoken too so far say that I’m doing everything right and that my non-traditional background is an advantage. So why am I still unemployed? My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

Used to be in a quant group. We had an underperforming staff who we let go. He claimed to HR he was discriminated against bc he was an MBA. To which they responded: that's not a protected class.

This has been my hardest year yet. Morale is rock bottom throughout. I am feeling the burn out coming fast. Any suggestions for getting a new attitude or outlook to want to come back next year?

First year teacher who has gotten PTSD from one student. 2 concussions, multiple scratches, bruises etc. I can’t help but feel burnt out and it’s not even my second semester...

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.

This week’s topic in our staff meetings is trauma and understanding the behavior of our students. Anyone else can’t help but take it personal when students lash out? 🙋🏻‍♀️

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally. I’m part of a great team; I’m trusted and supported, have a great track record, there are no issues, and have been no incidents. Regardless, my professional self perception and confidence is so rattled as of late, it’s almost like a paralysis at times.
