Oracle India Hi Fishes,
Does anyone can suggest me what to do? I recently joined oracle as a staff Consultant supposed to work as a Java developer but working on their utility framework. I don't have any interest in this. I want to work on Java with springboot development projects.Oracle India
Any thoughts on iCapital?

It’s fixed? You sure? I would make sure it’s fixed but then remember that literally everyone makes mistakes and it doesn’t matter one bit if fixed!
Having the security of knowing it's fixed is huge. Good on you for that. Literally everyone is perfect-presenting but 9/10 times it's just a game and literally we are all prone to error...
Thank you for the reminder that perfect-presenting is usually our reality 😂 appreciate your encouragement!!
As a client, I can assure you I don’t care about the prior advice being wrong, but more so the fact that you were able to catch it in time. For me, that’s all that really matters. Mistakes happen. Even if you didn’t catch it in time (ie something was filed) so long as there’s time to amend, I’m not tripping. For me personally, I only start to take notice if it’s not fixable or this is now your 5th or more mistake made within a 2-3 month window. That’s when I likely won’t continue to staff you on my matters. We all deserve grace so don’t sweat it. Continue to learn and grow and be counted on as an expert in your field. The imposter feeling will eventually start to lessen. G’luck!
Your insight is so incredibly helpful! Thanks for sharing from your perspective as a client. It's encouraging to hear that you value the effort put into making something right & ensuring it doesn't happen again, rather than staying fixated on what went wrong. "We all deserve grace" -- so so important for all of us in this industry to hear! Will tell myself that repeatedly and pass it on, as well. Thank you!
I am also a client, and I prize accountability. Don't let your imposter syndrome stop you from saving the day! You didn't make a mistake. You gave the best advice you could with the info you had and then you got new info and updated accordingly. Say something like upon further research/consideration... Blah blah blah. Or, under the previously known facts x was our advice, but I caught wind of y and that impacted our position so we pivoted to z as our best move because....
Assure the client they are in the right position now and thank them for being able to swivel as needed.
Also, if no one else is making a big deal of it, then you don't either. I have counsel that literally lied to me about doing things lol I promise you if you are this concerned about catching a mistake IN TIME you are not their most concerning outside counsel.
Thank you so much for your insight as a client and for the thoughtful response as to how I can better deal with this particular situation and conversation with the client. Ughh, I wish I could shake this imposter syndrome, but it's so many years in the making, lol. I've definitely come across opposing counsel that make me wonder why I stress so much about the quality of my own competence 😂 I'm in the juggling act of trying to build resilience, while staying humble, while also forcing myself to be intentional about displaying confidence in my work. Thanks for the encouragement!
It's okay to make a mistake and it shows more merit that you were willing to be prompt and alert the client asap rather than wait for it to be an issue
Thank you for your encouraging words! I'm trying to pull myself out of my misery by focusing on what I can do to continue to make things right, rather than staying fixated on what went wrong. 😭
I encourage you to avoid deriving all of your self-worth from your work and achievements. Try to find something you like doing outside of work (which, with the hours in law, might be difficult). Finally, I discovered that viewing work as work and attempting to separate it from my personal life was the best thing for me. I enjoy my career, but ultimately, work is what allows me to make an income to do the things I truly want to do, like travel, hobbies, and cooking. Seeing it in that light, and not deriving all of my self-worth from my job, has been a huge step forward.
It's like you're living in my head & speaking the truth I need to hear! I think the burnout from doing the cycle of wake up/work/sleep on repeat with little room for much else has made it so difficult not to place my worth in my job. Def need to unplug myself a little and be intentional about how I use my time. Thanks for the thoughtful response!
