Task paralysis has been taking over my life lately. I've been recently diagnosed ADD/ADHD but have not gotten meds yet. I feel the last few months my brain has been taking a nose dive... overwhelmed in every facet of life yet I can't get my Sh*t together enough to get things done. WTFFFFFF🥴😖

Besides proper meds, what makes this get better?????

For task paralysis, the only thing that worked for me is to chill. I had to force myself to stop trying to be the hero and just do the damn job. And if I’m stuck and have a question, ask it. This resolved my task paralysis. Don’t get me started on task initiation though, thats a whole other issue :(

Sometimes completing other unrelated tasks. I’ll clean a room in my home, do the dishes or some laundry. The feeling from accomplishing a relatively small task really motivates me and puts me in the mindset to do more

Consistent sleep schedule, less drinking, cutting down on social stuff, vacations, and hobbies until you’ve reached a manageable state and then increasing them back up again (this is a hard pill to swallow I know)

I will go and use a scrum board or the structured app when I start having issues prioritizing or initiating tasks. I just used a scrum board to prioritize cleaning my house yesterday!

And this is a video of using Scrum/Kanban for home projects. If you want something more linear, I’d really recommend using the structured app. It can integrate in your email.

Relatively new position at a coveted firm as their Marketing and BD manager. Have suffered burnout and depressive episodes previously: can feel the symptoms raising it’s head. Most importantly, struggling to tolerate how directors speak to me, whereas previously I wouldn’t take it personally and get on with it. Actively looking for a different position as I’ve come to discover this company exploits EME employees, but want to attempt to end on a “high note”.

Have been running for the last few years and consistently get “dead feet” feeling after 3-4 miles. Feet go somewhat numb and I stop and stretch to relive the pain. Have tried a few different types of shoes (on cloud / altra / Nike) to no avail. Even tried the loosening of my shoes. Any advice? I’m in good shape and can cycle for 40-60 miles at a time so endurance isn’t the issue, it’s my feet. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions!!!

My mom is mid-50s and has started having what appear to be mini blackouts. Her face contorts like she is laughing or crying, and she is unresponsive for 5-10 seconds. When we ask her what is wrong, she has no idea what we are talking about and no memory of the event.

Any advice for dealing with a constipated puppy? She had been sick and the vet gave her medicine for the vomiting/diarrhea, which is working great for vomiting and lack of appetite but she hasn’t had a bowel movement in a few days even after a few good walks.. she’s a ticking time bomb!

A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). I’m switching to Strattera (from Adderal XR) after some stories shared in this bowl, and some family members who have been really happy with it.

On my first full dose today and man the nausea is real. Understanding now why my doctor told me to split the dose into different parts of the day. Should have listened. 😅

My husband and I want to start a family so in preparation for pregnancy I tried lowered my Vyvanse dose from 40 mg to 30 mg to see if I could get by on lower dose. I feel like I’m not even taking medicine at all. When you lowered a dose did you get used to this feeling or should I know right away that this isn’t going to work? New midlevel associate at a big law firm and still ramping up.
