Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.
Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Your dedication is admirable, but staying late without approval can be risky. Aligning with scheduling policies and clear communication protects both you and patients. Always follow protocols to avoid misunderstandings.
I don’t think you were wrong but it should be policy that if a dr is seeing a patient and is later than a regular closing time someone else like the front desk should ALWAYS stay until the last patient leaves. That is just crappy management not bad care. I worked for sutter and that was our procedure. Someone like a PSR or MA or even another PA had to stay until the last patient left. Sorry that happened to you.

As in people were late for scheduled appointments?
Did you work overtime?
If you worked OT it cost the company money to bend the rules round timely attendance of appointments.
Bending rules and staying late for customers is also a slippery slope and can become an expectation "well so and so stayed late for me last time".
It can also be a liability. You stayed late working outside of open/contracted hours.
It was an oversight if done once...but I would not do it again.
Law #1 of the Hippocratic Oath is First, do no harm. It's almost hand-in-hand that one is to provide relief. Relief is needed at all hours of the day, not just from 9:00 to 5:00.
I'm a jerk and I don't care what that sheet of paper nailed to the wall that tells the world what initials go behind your name. That oath overrides the paper. You did right, as long as you were following orders prescribed by a physician.
Thank you for your support.
I feel as though that is one of the things that has gone missing from the healthcare system
??? That sounds unusual to me.
I agree
Other doctors that I was working with said the same thing.
It’s doing on to others
And that I was saving this particular person from suing the doctor that performed the surgery.
Is salt in the wound.
Your statement about the one doctor saying it was inappropriate to be alone with a mother and her daughter - is it in your Rules and Regulations that no employee can work without at least one other employee still in the clinic? Rules are rules and many of them are annoying, restricting, and make no sense. But the company is under the constraints of whatever is in their insurance documents. If the issue involves a male physio being alone with two female patients, that is another potential insurance/legal issue. I'm not saying male therapists are inherently dangerous around female patients; who knows that the patient herself isn't the disordered one who decides to fabricate some unwitnessed event that might get her a nice award in court? Or that doctor may simply feel it's not ideal to be alone for safety reasons. I'm assuming a mother and daughter together aren't there to rob and/or shoot you, but these days too much of that is happening and a lot of companies have adopted a new policy of having multiple employees on each shift. Realistically, if your late client called and told you she was going to be late, you would have been better off re-booking her than agreeing to let her come after hours. If she didn't call ahead and just arrived late, you would have been within your rights to meet her at the door and tell her she would have to call in the morning for a new booking.
Amen.
I lost a job making too many consults which increased my documentation time which decreased my daily quotation. It's a business. It's not about helping people. It's about meeting the minimum provisions required to get the company paid.
Getting OT is cutting into someone's quarterly bonus.
It begins and ends with money not the patient.
You're a great person, best of luck to you!!!
My wife is a former APN. She and I have discussed this much.
HC has led itself astray so far we need to beware of the Medical Industrial Complex equal to or more than we should fear the Military Industrial Complex. The media will never let that fall from their lips on-screen, though.
That was well thought out and put perfectl.
Thank you
I think the most important thing is to figure out who is the patient! Then the evaluation should between the doctor and the patient without the third person!!!
@physical therapist
do you understand what I am saying?
Patients come first those are the customers that make your place of work continue to operate. Yes it cost the company money but there is a buffer in any organised business.
If that’s the reason they gave and. O one was there to take over care, get union representation OR an attorney. It helped me once to Google which attorney has successfully sued an employer, and I found him. Just dropping his name and it was like I became the CEO overnight.
You did nothing wrong. These jobs are wrong…firing people who go above & beyond. I hope you start your own business soon. The workforce is now thibg but modernized slavery. They don’t care about you caring for people. The patient’s and nothing but a $ sign. Now we’ll have one less compassionate healthcare professional, because all the world cares about is money! I’m gonna pray that place gets closed down.
Is this the first time you've done this? Were you reprimanded in the past for this action? Go to work, do your job, and leave. I'm sure they've had issues in the past, with another employee, hence the reason for your firing.
Use this as a learning lesson. Try to get unemployment compensation. Start putting out resumes, and put this behind you.
No, I do not believe you were incorrect in doing what you have always done. Jobs like ours in healthcare require judgment. That's why you were hired for your good judgment, as well as your skills and training. I once had a company I worked for as a therapist in mental health. I had done a Positive Parenting class on a Saturday. I was willing to put in the time, which involved eight hours over two weeks. No one else was on our floor on Saturdays. The class was very successful with high commendations. There were eight people in the class besides myself. Six months later when I wanted to repeat the class, a marketing person for our company got involved and decided that it was not a good idea without a secretary there and day staff. She approached the CEO and talked about liability for the company. Because of that, they decided that I should not hold another class on Saturdays, my only "free" day. Since I was salaried, I did not receive extra pay for this either, and the company made some money on the class because people normally paid the suggested amount. If they couldn't pay, they didn't have to pay at all. Everyone paid. I was disappointed in the company's reaction because I truly loved working with these families. Although the case was different from yours, there were similarities and it points to the litigious nature of our society at present. It also points out the differences in perspectives of people we work with. I'm truly sorry this happened to you. Try not to take it personally. You demonstrate a kind and caring nature in your commitment to your patient. Keep up the good work! May you be blessed with a much better job.
Wow I just want to say that I am so sorry this happened to you. If the mom and the daughter were comfortable being alone with you there then I see nothing wrong with it. Also I think staying nice to treat your patients was very kind and very patient forward of you.
I am a Child of God and I have the Faith that God Will Take care of his children's and their needs. This administration must know God is in charge and they can't make his children's suffer. He Cares! He Cares!
Are you a PT or PTA? PTs should be unionized,That was an excuse to fire you
All healthcare workers should unionize
