What are the pros/cons of having a manager who you don't see very often? Is it overall a good thing as opposed to a manager who micromanages everything?

I'd say there's a middle ground that's good. No one wants micromanaging, but having a manager who is quite detached can also be problematic. It's good to know that you're not doing anything that will be an issue later, so having a manager who is aware of what's happening is a positive thing.

Most of my team is remote/hybrid. I try to meet with my direct reports and leads one-on-one every two weeks and I expect them to do the same with their direct reports, if not more often.

I also schedule a team meeting every two weeks with everyone to go over anything new that they need to know.

I worked for a guy that lived 3 states away and came into the office once a quarter for a week. It was great if I needed him I called if he needed me he called but most of the time I was left alone. I think it depends on the person though a person can be micromanaged just as easily remotely as they can in person.

I talk with my manager biweekly, cons would be the benefit of getting quick feedback on a subject. He lives in a different state and is very busy so it’s hard to run things by him

I'd rather have a manager who I only talked to/saw every once in a while. I can't stand it when someone is watching over my shoulder, especially if I have a lot of experience.

This was my last one. I only interacted when I needed the authority (sign-off or otherwise). I was left to figure out my job, it's good and bad. The manager knew what was going on though. I received decent reviews and annual increases. I intuited by asking around that if the manager was more involved, then i was doing something wrong. Mymnew one is much more involved, and that's OK. I was used to that more with past managers.

Currently our marketing team is of one (me) and we outsource quite a bit of other tasks as we continue to grow. With that said, one of the tasks I am currently involved with is creating weekly emails from scratch and I am pretty darn good at them. Yet so many people (several in different teams) have requested to review my work before it’s sent. It’s unnecessary and makes the job less efficient. How can I politely and professionally decline their request?

Need some advice here…I’m about 3 months in and a senior male associate told me to just google it when I asked him a question. I told him that hurt my feelings. After apologizing that he said that meanly but was just offering advice he has completely stopped responding to me. Was I oversensitive? Just not sure what’s going on here…

I am seriously worried. I am doing my co-op and my supervisor is not giving me an easy time. I am trying to do my best even with very little direction and this supervisor constantly harassing my about things like her not being able to use google meet or to remember passwords. I feel bullied and very anxious. I am afraid she can jeopardize my visa with a bad evaluation. I have been working at midnight, on Sunday mornings but I am human, I make mistakes, she just blames me instead of teaching.

Hi everyone, I am getting ready for a job interview, and need to create a media plan. I was hoping someone can help me with the next task: basically, I need to create inventory recommendation based on past performance. What I am very confused about is that they gave me Booked Impressions (=4M), but in the task it says I should assume there is unlimited inventory. Am I supposed to use this 4M only to calculate spend, ROAS, etc., but can actually have unlimited allocated impressions? Thank you!
