Where should I allocate $6K in my Fidelity Roth IRA for 2022?

These are all of my investments (company 401K and personal Roth IRA). I’m in my 30s if that matters.

I would combine most of those current overlapping holdings (especially the managed funds which likely have high fees for no better return) into one or two funds (VOO / VTI) and put the new money in that.

Acorn and BNY

The top 4 Vanguard funds have massive overlaps. You might want to clean them up into one. The managed funds should also be eliminated unless you really love them for a reason.

Sorry, yes. I meant personal Roth IRA.

VTI VUG VGT

VOO all day baby

like

Why aren't you using FNILX or FZROX if you're in Fidelity?
Put in VOO - 80% and VBK - 20% otherwise

like

Agree with EYP1, FNILX is a good choice with zero expense that tracks to S&P 500 identical performance.

I would not invest in growth right now (VGT, VUG) and wait with that or Penfield reallocate to that after fed rates increase is done later this year (with possible market correction).
Right now I would play simple and put everything into VTI or VOO

Just do 💯 VTI

My focus sectors for this year are financial services, energy and real-estate. Any things else would be large cap value stocks. I am already holding a lot of tech and growth stocks in my portfolio.

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I hate leaving money on the table but there are some good roles out there. I’m not fully vested in my current 401k yet and my stock grants haven’t matured yet either. This would be at a global director level.

What’s the general guidance on the order to maximize retirement contributions for tax benefits for an normal individual and for a self employed/small business owner before moving to taxable accounts or alternate vehicles like cash value life policies?
I’ve seen for individual: match trad 401k->match roth 401k->max roth IRA->max trad IRA->max trad 401k->max roth 401k->max HSA
For self employed: max SEP IRA/solo 401k->max roth IRA->max trad IRA->max HSA

Of course situations differ but in general?

I have cash to put a large down payment to avoid the high rates but am scared I have no roots and will move in another few years.

I think living a frugal life and aiming to retire early makes a lot of sense.

Recently, some of my family members are diagnosed with a rare diseases. When you look at the statistics, these are so many of these ‘rare’ conditions and cumulatively they are not rare.

These family members conditions made me reevaluate how I want to spend my life. I am 35 this year and I can’t decide if I should take great vacations with my kids or keep living a frugal life. Do you have the same dilemma?

Hello I just started my first job (I’m 22) and I need to set up a 401k for matching with my company. I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great
