Did you claim sleep apnea to the VA, that’s 30% for persistent daytime sleepiness or higher. That extra payout might shut her up?
I have 50% rated sleep apnea, is that what you're referring to? I mainly feel headaches in the morning and lack of energy in the first half of the day. Extra money always makes the missus happy... until it's not enough. These women have a supernatural ability to spend a lot of money really fast
Tape your mouth
Wear an anti snore chin strap to sleep,
Lose weight if you’re big
Practice nasal breathing during the day
Wait, you guys are serious about the mouth taping? I have a stache... I guess I could incorporate it into the nightly coitus routine, I'll think on it
Serious question - snoring doesn’t necessarily mean you have sleep apnea right? My partner says I snore but I don’t feel like I have the effects of what sleep apnea does to you
Correct. There's obstruction to the effect it causes sound and there's obstruction to the point it causes you to stop breathing. The latter is apnea.
The CPAP is the only thing. But sleep apnea (from my study) was more about the pauses in breathing rather than snoring. I was a heavy snorer, I lost 30lbs and my wife mentioned a couple of days ago she didn’t realize I had stopped snoring.
I use a dental device. It works but it is painful in the morning because it locks your jaw forward. A simpler method might be losing weight if you are over weight.
Like I told CRO1, I was never that big to begin with. The device sounds like a huge pain in the butt, I'd rather join the 75 hard club (after winter, cuz f going outside rn) and lose weight instead.
Inspire is a Maskless way. Google it
Hi. I wear a Darth Vader mask every night. It's honestly worth it. Who needs lungs anyway 🤷♂️
I wear a mask and it does help. Mine is just nose pillows. But not wanting to do that try a chin strap to force you to breath out your nose. Also elevate your head so your chin is closer to your neck.
I am trying the second one, using 2 pillows to keep my head higher up. It's 50/50, depending whether I toss and turn too much.
Tape your mouth
There is an implant that stimulates you when your need to breath while sleeping
Inspire. You can check them out @ inspiresleep.com
Following. Hate my CPAP. Have tried a ton of those commercial products and havent had any luck.
Are you overweight or obese? That’s a common cause of sleep apnea. I’d look for the underlying root cause vs a band aid to cover it up.
I was never that big, 160s during service, up to 190 right now. My doctor mentioned my tonsils are fairly big, suggested a tonsillectomy. I'm not a big fan of going under the knife, especially if it's not guaranteed to even help anything.
Dental appliance.
Some people have a problem with snoring due to the lack of humidity in the winter especially with dry heat. We got a humidifier just for the bedroom that puts out a good bit of humidity. And that seems to help me and her. I have snoring issues but she has sleep apnea
I'll look into getting one of these. They sound expensive though
lose weight if ur BMI is high
check with doc, I have an overbite so getting a mouthguard that aligns the teeth more helps, as well as sleeping on the side. But should see a sleep specialist to diagnose
