Is the delta variant messing with anyone’s productions or prep?

You all think rent will go down in light of the CDC updates and delta variant spread? Was about to sign a lease for September but thinking prices might fall if I wait

A big wave of despair just hit me: realizing that delta is only getting started and with lambda and the dozens of other variations that exist in other countries, it’s hard to power through. Can’t ignore it cause we have a newborn but the isolation is going to be unbearable this time around.

Summer associate recruiting question - OCI is mostly virtual right now, but how is your firm handling call backs? In person or virtual? We use a panel interview process requiring five people to be in one room chatting for an hour. Opinions on this? Would you feel safe as an interviewer or as a student interviewing? Does anyone feel like we’re all going to get Covid? Based on the latest CDC data, it seems like there’s nothing that can contain the delta variant. It seems like the only thing we can do is slow it down long enough to get more people vaccinated.

Any advice for how to decline travel? Partner is pushing for us to go but there is a delta variant and I want to be able to spend time with my family without worrying I’ll infect them. The team culture is quite toxic (these people berate each other daily) so I feel uncomfortable speaking up, but I really don’t see a good reason for going there to do work I can do from home.

Alright so there’s a thing called reclaim my status. If you had a reason why you lost status in the last year or two like COVID, baby, new job, etc. You need to submit some basic documentation and they give you that status for 3 months with a DRASTICALLY lower threshold to make the status permanent and even higher tiers are much easier to obtain during those 3 months. Google “reclaim my status Delta”

What are the odds of Bonvoy, Hyatt, and others extending 2020/21 status into 2022? Similar to how Delta just extended their medallion status into 2022?

Had a trip to Mexico booked last year for New Year’s Eve with SO, we canceled when covid really was up ticking in the fall and received vouchers for everything. We rebooked a month back assuming covid was tamed but now with delta I’m really nervous. I’m vaccinated but the reports rn with breakthroughs aren’t great. We would be leaving for Mexico this coming weekend. We don’t have time to rebook given the timelines of our vouchers. I can’t decide if we should go or just eat the trip at this point

Does anyone else get covid guilt? I met friends for a vacation this past weekend. We are all vaccinated and wore masks in Ubers and until we were seated at restaurants and bars. I just can’t help but feel guilty and worried that we were irresponsible as the delta variant surges.

Does anyone think their office will delay opening because of the delta variant?

I have a feeling that with the delta variant, schools may do the same as last year and make classes remote after thanksgiving so students aren’t going back and forth from home to school. Thoughts?
