Not sure where to ask this so I’m gonna post it here. I’m planning to travel around Sep from Boston to Seattle to visit a friend. Do you think it’s safe enough to do so or should I push it back? Delta variant sounds scary but I did made the promise to my friend a long time ago.

Q for Delta travelers:
We are going to buy a Delta gift card as a graduation gift (recipient is based out of SLC). I’ve flown Delta like once or twice in my life so I know nothing … is there any avenue to maximize the gift (for example, sales, discounts, promos such as lounge access with purchase)?

Thought I’d check to get the most bang for my buck before I purchase. TIA

Anyone know if return to office will be pushed back with the delta variant? (Or specifically DC/MD/VA offices)

I haven’t had a legit 1-2 week vaca in 3 years and now with Delta it looks it’ll be another year or two before it happens. ✈️ If I don’t feel safe leaving the country, I might as well keep on working. 👩🏻‍💻

For those with spouses or family members who feel differently about COVID, what do you do? My husband and I have been on the same page up until now with the Delta variant.

Anyone ever fake a covid exposure to not go to a work event or team bonding event? A few of us at work aren’t thrilled about flying to HQ in a few weeks and we’re job searching anyway. At a recent event a few people said they’re “sick” & attended over Teams.

Our leadership says catching delta is “mild” and we can do “more research”. They won’t require vax cards. Some of our live in partners either don’t have insurance or have health concerns like asthma. So, coworkers don’t want to go either 😵

I’ve got questions about Covid/delta/testing. Apparently someone I know developed a cough (and their group of friends did too). Each of them tested negative for covid but now this person is saying they suspect the covid tests don’t all detect delta. Is this valid? I’m no expert here so I simply listened. Are we dealing with false negatives? 🤔

Currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, considering upgrading to the Reserve but also looking at AmEx Gold/Plat. Past the time-lock period for Chase so I will be eligible for the sign-up bonus again if I do upgrade.

Not sure if any upgrade is worth it but am planning to travel (should the Delta variant subside) so want to maximize the sign-up bonuses and perks for my next card.

Grandmother on a vent in the hospital with Covid (delta). Unvaccinated. Not looking good. Also my mom has some sort of PTSD/mental health issue (basically thinks poison ivy is in the house and has lots of irrational triggers) that’s impacting her daily life and takes over her entire day (hard time showering, wants to cut off her hair, sell the house, difficulty helping lil bros in school, cleans everything. She started anxiety meds. doesn’t listen to doctors or anyone. refuses to seek pro help.

The Delta pre-flight video always makes me emotional 😆😭

Would be nice if companies could put their egos aside and let us stay home while the virus seems to clearly be running rampant again. Even as someone who’s vaccinated I do not feel comfortable commuting into an office when Delta and Lambda are on the rise. Sure it’s nice to “be together” and to “just swing by people’s desks and ask questions.” But it’s also nice to not end up in the hospital or be exposed to anti-maskers on your commute 🥴
