I want to lateral from the boutique firm I am currently at to big law. Went to a T-20, but never did a summer associate role at a law firm due to personal circumstances as a 2L. I’m currently having to bill 2K hours so an upside is that I’ve been able to do a lot of things as an A1. Is making this jump unrealistic? I’ve received some advice to network and cold email partners/ recruiters at these firms, but how could I stand out in a sea of messages?

I live in Frisco and have a 4PM DFW flight and a 1PM Uber to get me to the airport. Any concerns about me getting there on time or flights being cancelled due to flooding?

I have a third round interview this Thursday, but after I sent my availability, I booked a flight for work that is causing a problem. The interview ended up scheduled for 3:30-4:15, and I'm supposed to be on a 5pm flight out of LGA. Is there a reliably quiet place at LGA to do the interview (I don't have lounge access)? Would it be a bad idea to say my availability changed and I can't do that time slot anymore? Or should I cancel / rebook my flight to later at night?

My partner was offered a job by the City of San Diego but upon reviewing their benefits it looks like they have opted out of Social Security withholding; instead he would have a mandatory pension deduction that is based on his age. It sounds like a terrible benefit structure. Has anyone worked for the City of SD who can give advice?

It is easy to see more homes coming up for sale in DFW as the are sitting on the market longer and have seen a lot of price cuts as well.

Question: Is now a good time to buy or wait till Q1/Q2 next year?
