Does the following strategy make sense: max out back door Roth IRA: 70% FZROX / 20% FTIHX / 10% FXNAX and taxable brokerage: DCA into VOO (or should I do FXIAX since I’m with Fidelity)? I know I should add more ETFs (ARK, QQQ, etc.) to brokerage but want to start off slow

If you had one million dollars in cash right now, how would you invest? Put everything in market at once, or DCA? If DCA, then over how much time?

Which ARK funds are best? I typically buy individual growth stocks but want to sink about 50k (either lump or DCA) into ARK.

Just got my bonus. Wondering whether I should DCA or lump-sum invest given the market condition. It just seems like it is too high especially now but that is also how I’ve always felt except for Jan 2019 and March 2020.

Fascinating to be one of the middle aged, dumb money/index fund DCA guys whose entire financial life is predicated on hitting lots of singles, and maybe buying the dip for the occasional double, all while my younger brothers and sisters take a much more swing for the fences approach with respect to the current market turmoil. Totally respect it and acknowledge that it’s not altogether inappropriate for those who are younger or who are doing it with fun money. But it’s fascinating.

Is everyone DCA or simply holding - for the meme stocks?

I have 8K in cash my Roth IRA, and wondering if I should DCA monthly or invest in an index. I know...time in that market > timing the market, but I've also read the having cash on hand for the dips is a good idea. This 8K cash is about 3% of my total portfolio. Keep in cash or just invest?

Does anyone think the whole “just buy the market cause you can never beat it” thing is inherently flawed because you are measuring against the thing you are buying therefore you can never “lose” - all you can do is match?
Like “oh well the market dropped I did all I could!” Feel me? (context: I’m generally pro DCA and broad ETFs, this point just bugs me)

What’s the best side-hustle you know of? Most of what I see on this bowl is the regular maxing 401k, IRA, DCA on markets etc.

How do capital gains taxes actually work? For example, if I first invested in VOO ten years ago but then DCA consistently to the present, does that mean I could sell all of VOO at long term capital gains? Or does the IRS use some blended average between short and long depending on how much I invested in the last year vs. before?

Where can I DCA ETH aside from coinbase?

Guys thoughts on where I can DCA ETH for cheap? I DCA via Swan for BTC, one time purchases of all other alt coins on CoinbasePro. However, CoinbasePro does not have a DCA option and forget about Coinbase coz their fees are ridiculous.

I feel early Friday will be the lowest we will go for BTC due to the Chinese New Year 🧧 but hey what do I know? I'm just a dude DCA'ing BTC 🤷🏿‍♂️

IRA - front loading or DCA? What's your preference and why?

Hello trusted fish! I’m 23 & have been decent whth saving/investing so far. I bought the dip in March (all my $!) But have sat out most of the year. Need to get back into DCA regularly next year so looking for ETF recs. Currently hold VTI, VNQ (reit), and QQQ. Next year, I’m looking at VTI, QQQ, ARKx... any thoughts?!

Back door Roth conversion - invest 100% upfront in January or later in the year or DCA?

Opening a 529 for my kid and need to dump $20K into it. Our state has limited options for investments. Target date funds, some vanguard and T-Rowe price equity (growth, value, international all with small mid large cap mixes) and bond choices. With the market where it is right now... any recommendations on what to pick? I know you don’t want to time the market, but $20K is a large lump sum to dump in at high in the market. Perhaps, DCA it into a value and international heavy mix.

Is it better to front load 401k or do it evenly throughout all year? Basically with current living situation aka living with parents I can max out 401k by April. My expenses should hopefully go up after April when things get back to semi normal. Look people, be careful when the market takes a downturn. I lost a significant amount in gains because I had people I trusted that told me to do things in March.
