How much money did you save (401k + savings) during your first year as an analyst? I need a benchmark to know whether my goals and reality are realistic.

As an entry level analyst is it better to enroll in the Pre-Tax or Roth 401k ? What are the benefits of each?

Apologies if this is a silly question - New analyst here and trying to get a handle on my finances and retirement portfolio. I’m familiar with the rough sequence of saving being: 3-6 months HYSA, Company match 401k, Roth IRA, HSA, 401k max, personal brokerage (Pls correct me if i’m incorrect here). My question is: Are you expected to invest as much money as you can into each step before proceeding to the next, or do you allocate a portion of your paycheck to each of these steps simultaneously?

For the past 2 years as an analyst/SA, I've grown my project experience and skillset in the T&O space, hoping for an alignment to this practice as a consultant. I recently got my alignment into a practice that I am unfamiliar with and do not have prior experience/skills (not my first choice of T&O). Although I understand the benefits of learning new skills, this does not align with my career goals and desired trajectory. How should I approach this - staying, transferring, or shopping around?

Is it dumb to take a new role at a lower title but higher total comp? I’m currently an associate product manager at an agency supporting federal clients. I have an exit opportunity as a product analyst at an established healthcare tech company. Current role is about leading a team to build/enhance products. Exit op would be less implementation focused.
Current comp as APM: $83k
Comp for potential new role: $113k

Can I negotiate a higher salary or relocation cost reimbursement coming in as an experienced investment banking analyst? (Regional boutique)

A recruiter from McK reached out to me for their healthcare consultant - implementation role. As an analyst (I worked in healthcare 1.5 years prior to moving to consulting) I feel a little confused going up for a consultant level role. Am I missing something or is McK implementation a different trajectory?

Should have C promotion coming any minute with bonus.
reasonable working hours. Not fully vested yet for 401k matches, IIRC.

Have in-house consultant opportunity in industry - ~120 base and expected bonuses around 15-20/yr. 8-5 gig, <25% travel.

Take the industry gig or wait it out at my firm for C or M and look again?

Long-term goal: Product Management/Product Marketing for tech company. 0-1 YOE.

1: CDP Analyst at Accenture, TC ~93 with sign on bonus. No 401k matching first year, 6% after.

2: Sales for CPG (PepsiCo/Unilever/P&G), basically partnering with e-commerce platforms to manage sales and product. Easy job and we get a car on top of TC of $81K (although only 71 of that is base).

I know the numbers are both rookie, but I’m fresh outta college.

How to know if HR is low balling you or actually putting you in right salary bracket. I have been told MBB has fixed pay bands and there is less scope for negotiation.
Someone suggested to ask for higher joining bonus.

Am I worth 100k+?

I am in the process of interviewing for a senior analyst postion for a managed care company, this position is mainly focused on business development (m&a).

Total business experience is about 5 years (2 years public in audit and 3 years data analysis in industry). I also have 5 years of healthcare experience (nurse equivalent), this experience is very specialized and is directly related to the company's business.

I currently get paid 72k at Deloitte. Thoughts?

Hello 🐠. I am a cyber risk analyst at Deloitte. I currently make 80,200 plus benefits. I received an offer from a late stage start up today for a cyber analyst role. Offering 110,000 plus benefits and 20,000 pre ipo equity. What do you guys think?

I like Deloitte and i think i would the startup environment.

Only real difference is Deloitte small 401k match. This company does not do that.

Do you need to have a healthcare background (in school) to be qualified for IBD analyst with concentration in healthcare?

Anybody know what the comp breakdown is for life science “qualitative research” roles at a hedge fund at the analyst level? What are the benefits of those kinds of roles? Seems like they don’t do any modeling so doubt you can make much money out of them long term.
