Thoughts on 90k base salary for senior analyst position with 5 YOE? Have defined contribution pension with employer double matching and also bonus of 10%.

What are everyone’s thoughts on ECM analyst roles and how similar or different would it be from a coverage group like healthcare or tech? Would it be possible to move from ECM to a coverage group later on?

Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? Hello! 23 y/o, 2nd year analyst who is ~hopefully receiving her first bonus and wondering what tax elections / retirement elections I should make? I max my Roth, and should be close to maxing my 401K, but wondering if it makes sense to dump it in trad 401K to avoid the taxes? Otherwise would I just keep my normal paycheck contributions and call it a day? Thanks!

1.5 years at D, analyst currently making TC of 75k, located in tier 2 city. Looking at making a move to a boutique firm for about a TC of 105-110k. From a comp perspective it obviously makes sense, but is it worth it to stay at a B4 for the sake of better learning opportunities, networking, and the name, or take the salary hike from a relatively small firm with less tangible and intangible benefits, possibly also less growth opportunities? Anyone been in a similar situation?

Entering the last round for a strategy role at a small healthcare company, pay would be $90k base from discussions with the recruiter. Just got bumped to $69k (LCOL City) as of today in my current role in Tech but passed over for promo (Analyst with 2 YOE: 1 Banking, 1 consulting, both tech). I’m a non-technical person looking to get an MBA within the next 3 years and want to be in strategy focused positions. Would this hurt MBA apps and would it be a good jump to make?

How to move from healthcare consulting (analyst level) to PE shop focused on healthcare?

Hey all- I recently got laid off as an analyst due to large COVID cuts. Looking to make ends meet. Was supporting deal leads plan and manage projects (financials, resource mngmt, etc) and relationship mngmt between firm leadership and IT startups as well - both work I loved. Since I had <1 YOE in consulting (recent PSU grad), looking to get advice on how to move forward. Have ~1 YOE PM work in FS/healthcare tech prior to A. Friends tell me to get SCRUM certs. Open to any advice and thoughts!

Analyst got laid off from Accenture due to COVID, asked to reapply to a specific role that got cancelled due to COVID leaving me with a 4 month gap. Unemployed now and looking to make ends meet. Penn State 2017 grad in biz/IO psych, graduated after psych program at Yale to working in healthcare tech/IO/fin tech brand strategy, worked in client facing Wall St based investment management and Accenture working directly w leads on RFP/SOW scope/resource mngmt/financials. Was let go as a staff 2 at 77k in September and currently have 3 offers in deciding between them. Would really appreciate any feedback. 1. 3rd year associate at PWC -HIA at 85k. 2. Friend got a first round interview for BCG healthcare analyst. Will they case for this?

As an analyst, I was excited for consulting for travel, new work environments, and all of the benefits. Was absolutely loving it until quarantine hit. Will consulting ever get back to the old normal or will we be stuck working the same hours from home with very limited person to person interaction? As an extreme extrovert, I’m feeling extremely disengaged and generally depressed day to day.

Just got an offer from a growing private company for an FP&A analyst role. 2 YOE at Big 4 plus CPA. They offered 75K plus decent benefits. No 401K currently (told its in the works for 2021) or bonus. Its their final offer. It’s a MCOL. I like the people I’ve met but the only thing holding me back is I feel like I should be making at least 80K plus a bonus. Do y’all think the offer is reasonable? The recruiter said not many companies hire someone directly from an audit background for this role.

Putting finishing touches on essays and waiting on LoR’s, and I’m seriously second guessing my chances. Any input on my profile and schools? 25 white male, 720 GMAT, 3.72 GPA at my first school and graduated 3.92 summa cum laude after transferring. 4YE at matriculation with two promotions in my first two years, most recently to senior analyst while working at a F100 life sciences company. Schools in order of preference: Ross, Darden, Fuqua, Johnson, Kenan-Flagler. Goal is healthcare IB.

McKinsey Solutions - Solutions Leadership Track. I have received an offer for a Senior Analyst role and have been told the role will be mostly client facing. The Solution is an industry specific one e.g. healthcare, energy, etc. Does anyone have any more information on how these roles are viewed within the firm, progression, WLB, other benefits like search time, MBA sponsorship etc?

I’m looking at a financial analyst role with a healthcare company that involves modeling and diligence work in their M&A process, as the are looking to grow. Along with working on month end financial closing for the company. Would this be good enough experience to work my way into a transaction advisory practice down the road?

Does having Deloitte on your resume have a huge impact? Received an offer from Deloitte USDC to start in Sept but as an Analyst. I am a recent grad but have been working full time during college in industry. Have another offer from industry with better benefits and almost double the pay as a project manager. Wondering if it makes sense to go to Deloitte for 2 yrs for the resume boost and to learn a different skill set.

Hypothetical: You are a 23 year old consulting analyst seeking honest advice. You’re incredibly fortunate in that you have no debt, have maxed out your Roth 401k for the year, and have a good emergency fund. You have ~10k in the markets being invested outside your 401k but you’re unsure how to best utilize ~30k you have sitting in a bank account doing nothing (separate from your emergency fund). What would you do?

Hi - incoming PE analyst at a top Canadian pension fund here (CPPIB/OTPP/OMERS). I want to eventually move to a more operational PE shop, maybe even in America, but am unsure of my chances. I don’t have any FT IB experience besides one internship at a boutique, which is usually the prerequisite for going into PE. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!
