Tax/audit partners in big 4 and other large midsize firms. What do you say when other people (outside of accounting) ask you what you do? Surely you don’t say “accountant” and deal with their snide judgement. But I would also assume you don’t say “business owner” considering you don’t really own the business and make the judgement calls.

How long does it usually take back to hear from PA firms once you apply for a job and the app not rejected? I’ve applied to a handful of jobs, a mix of referrals and direct applications, and just feel very antsy and want to leave my job within a couple months. I do have B4 experience.

What positions at a Big 4 don’t require any sort of certification whatsoever or an MBA at maximum. I currently work in Corporate Finance and don’t know if I have translatable skills. I have no interest in CPA/CISA. Thanks

Are US tax jobs at risk as more and more especially Big 4 US firms outsource their client tax preparation overseas especially to Indian outfits? There was article in the NY Times that more and more US pubic accounting firms are outsourcing the preparation of their clients US taxes to Indian firms. These US firms save significant payroll costs (and probably don't charge their clients any less on the flip side). More money for the partners to share at the end of the the day. Is this the future?

What the best way to get an interview? I know how big 4 like to hold off on your application and reach out to you months after but is writing messages to recruiters best way to get your application get acknowledged?

I've done finance in undergrad and post grad. In tech consulting now at a big 4 but want to eventually transition into psychology, cos it's where my heart has been always.

1) Any insights from people working in Human capital related consulting (On LinkedIn saw that that's where most Psychology grads are working in the big4?)

Genuine qs to partners here. Between B4/ACN, is there any firm in particular where making consulting partner/principal could be easier? I know the cliche answer is NO but looking for opinions/experiences that may say otherwise.

Does it makes sense to work at Big 4 if you’re 30 and working in industry, making good money. Was thinking if Big 4 can accelerate my career or if i ever make switch to consulting it only should be MBB or tier 2.

How realistic of a possibility is it to go from B4 accounting advisory to B4 or T2 strategy consulting after 1 year of experience out of undergrad? Would love any insight!

Really curious: Does anyone know what’s the history behind the huge gap between Big 4 jobs in the US and in Europe? While it seems it’s a prestigious job with good pay in the US, over here in Europe their bar for hiring is rather low and the pay is really uncompetitive (not speaking of the strategy arms like EYP or Strategy&)
Edit: I am not comparing US salary to Europe but comparing the two jobs within the county/continent with other alternatives of the candidates + the reputation

How do I start to prep? Where can I find the right cases? What tips are there to ace the interviews

I interviewed before with Accenture and McKinsey, but thought I could have prepared the case different.
