Any good resources (books, websites etc) to get started on investments and understanding investments for someone who knows nothing about it? TIA!

Hey fishbowlers! Question concerning compensation for an FA assisting the main advisor on a $135M book. I am doing a lot of the work now as he is going to retire in 4-5 years and he is taking a step back. I do all the investment management in the account. Only 4 years of experience but I've picked this up quick, am series 9-10 licensed and halfway through the CFP.
What is fair compensation for someone like me? I don't know what is typical or fair.

I would like to learb about stock trading and learn to make wise decisions on investing. I have no very good experience. Can you suggest any articles/books? Id love to create my own wealth.

I will be joining a PE firm this month as an associate on their investing team. Can anyone who’s made the switch comment on how I can best prepare for the transition? Study my new fund’s portcos, drill LBOs using some specific site, read certain investing books, etc.? Would prefer to keep this discussion to how I can put my best foot forward day 1 vs. how to prepare for interviews, as I already have the job.

One of my team members is a software product consultant (we’re a 100 person software consultancy) and is interested in management consulting to help our clients with their business beyond their software product. She has an amazing track record of success and I want to invest in her education and training. If your client is 3/31 year end but books investments at NAV using the 12/31 market value adjusting for cash flows, what’s the best way to approach this? They don’t book 3/31 because they don’t get the numbers in time. Curious what other people do

Best investment book recommendations?

To all the partners/experienced investors, I was recently furloughed and I have been looking for another job but no luck yet. I am thinking of using my spare time to read books about how to invest in stocks. And if possible, I want to start investing ASAP with some of the money saved for emergency. Any recommendations about books to read would be appreciated. Also, do you think Uber and Microsoft are a buy right now? I have read some articles lately speaking highly of the two.
