I got really fat during covid. Think 215 to 297. I dread having to go back to office. How do I get this weight off. It hurts to walk. The positive I passed the cpa exam and got promoted to manager. What do I do, you think I have enough time to lose like 50 pounds before everyone has to go back to@office?

Would anyone ever pay for one on one coaching to help them with the CPA exam? I’m really struggling and thinking about the possibility

Looking to switch from Audit into another career path. However, just not sure what that would be. My long-term goal is to become a forensic accountant (minimum 10-15 years from now). Studying for the CPA exam, and once that is done I'd like to sit for the CFE exam. Current interests are in the private/corporate accounting industry (cost accounting, possibly tax, etc). Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Does anyone know why I lose more weight when I eat 2000 calories vs when I eat 1200 calories? For reference, I am currently 5’7 F and 128 lbs. I cannot work out for another month due to an expiring CPA exam so I am definitely losing muscle mass.

When I calorie count, I account for every little thing such as the vegetable oils or the tbs of salt. The 1200 calories is usually an extremely large meal + fruits + soup. The 2000 calories is usually a meal from a restaurant + fruits + a sandwich.

Should having the CPA exam passed be a requirement to make senior?

How do you tell your manager you are working through some mental health stuff without digging too much into personal struggles? I’ve been working through some stuff for the past year or so, and it has significantly impacted my cpa exam progress. I have been consistently rated as a high performer when it comes to work product, but I was in a pretty dark place a few months ago and my exam progress took a big hit from that. I have an exam status call tomorrow and idk what to say (see comments)

Is the CPA exam harder than actual work or the other way around? I’m a new big 4 employee and I feel like I don’t understand anything. Is this normal? Why do I feel like a dumass?

Help! Currently studying to take my first CPA exam! Although this is a personal goal, I feel obligated to pass! I feel so much pressure from family and peers. I feel like everyone is expecting me to pass and not that I’m not capable I just repeatedly keep thinking of it and what if I let them down!
I want to steer my focus back to my studies and think positive but I keep getting overwhelm 1. By all the material 2. Family and friends constantly asking me how is it going!

I passed all four sections of CPA exam 3 months prior to completion of 1st year (Associate 1) experience in my current firm. Should I wait to complete 1 year here to apply for licensure or also ask another different CPA firm that I interned with (for 2 months) to sign my experience?

Education: Large state school Accounting degree, 3.9 GPA. Also a CPA.

Exam: GRE 168Q 162V

Extracurriculars: Big Brother Big Sister, Alma Mater Mentor, Mentor for foundation for underprivileged HS students

Intended schools: Johnson, Ross, Darden, CBS, Kellogg, Booth, Haas, Duke

Is my list a stretch? Should I switch firms before applying, does KPMG kill my chances?

Now that they are gone, what do you feel would be helpful dates to keep in mind? For example, compliance deadlines (eg create a tax track), score release dates, holiday closures that provide you more time study? TIA! 🙏🏼

I recently started working in the AC center for Tampa but I wasn’t aware that it’s an extension of the audit engagement team and not the main team. So, now I’m not sure what to do because I want to work on all part of the audit and not just get stuck doing work that essentially the main team doesn’t want to do. I have my accounting degree and I’ve also passed couple sections of the Cpa exam, should I just stick it out and see what happens or start looking at different positions elsewhere?

Any advice on dealing with failure? Lately I felt that I’ve just kept on failing no matter what I try. Failed the last section of my cpa exam for the 3rd time. Got rejected from my dream job after final round. To top it all off I just found out I got rejected from a leadership conference I applied to at an ivy. Feeling really down on myself, I find out if I’m getting promoted within the next couple of weeks and I don’t know if I can take another major disappointment.

Ok I’m at a point I wonder where I should invest my time CPA exam, actuarial exams, or maybe a coding boot camp? I went from financial services to PA back to financial services. I cannot get amped up to take the CPA exam. Am I nuts for wanting to try actuarial exams?

I passed all 4 sections of cpa exam - have not applied for license yet - will my scores expire or do I have an unlimited amount of time to apply for license?

Curious what others think about this: a friend of mine has a couple of months of leave this fall to study for the CPA exam (they’ll be paid a reduced salary during their leave), but they mentioned they have no intention of studying for the exam, and instead plan to use that time to look for another job. This rubs me the wrong way, but wanted to hear what others think…
