Y’all, need ur thoughts. I’m on a headache of a client overseeing an experienced senior that has raised a lot of issues/endless excuses. I’ve suspected hours inflation because time is charged/work not really getting done. Hard time getting ahold of him. Last night, I stumbled upon a post in a CPA exam forum written by him recently (unique name) and learned he’s retaking REG which explains a lot. Probably doesn’t want people to know he still isn’t done with the exams. (Continued in comments)

Has anyone tried negotiating for paid time to study for the CPA exam during the work week? During summer when it’s theoretically less busy, just a few hours? We have the option to reduce our hours (and pay) in the summer to study, but that doesn’t sit right with me. The firm benefits financially from having more licensed employees, they should compensate you for that time (at least some of it!).

Does anyone know a lawyer that transitioned from big law to consulting? I haven't started big law yet (doing M&A and other corporate work), but I was wondering if it's possible to switch careers. I majored in business during undergrad and am eligible to sit for the CPA exam so I don't think comp skills should be an issue. I've only seen lawyers transition from big law to Big 4 tax departments. If going into big 4 tax is my only option, is it possible to switch from tax to consulting? Thanks

What happens if you don’t show up for your CPA exam? I know it says you forfeit your examination fees but since my NTS is expiring this week, I would need to reapply and pay again anyways.
When I try to cancel on prometrics it requires me to pay a cancellation fee. Just seems silly to have to pay twice when I won’t sit for the exam during this period anyways. Hello Accountants,

I have a question. I have enough credits for the CPA exam, but before I realized that I was aiming for a Master in Accounting and got accepted in my school 5 year program for that purpose.
