Hello everyone

I recently completed all four parts of the CPA exam and interested in joining PA. I have over 3.5 in corporate accounting, how would you guys go about securing a position in the B10? My plan was to work with a recruiter, but all the recruiters I have met with so far are trying to get me back in corporate accounting.

Thank you,

Stolen from Reddit…the masters to sit for the CPA exam route, don’t do it if you don’t have to! Double major or community college or even a 5th year is much cheaper.

Has anyone transferred a cpa license to CA? I have my license in another state and have all requirements but the accounting ethics class and ethics exam. But there was some funny language in the handbook stating they wouldn't recognize the cpa exam results if I didn't meet the educational requirement prior to sitting for the exam. Would I have to take the ethics class and exam AND retake the full cpa exam to be licensed in ca?

Will PWC hire someone in tax that isn’t eligible to sit for the cpa exam? I noticed that just about all of their listings mention that you need to be “eligible to sit per state requirements” but does anyone know this for a fact? I have more than enough credits to meet the 150 but am missing several accounting courses I would need to qualify in my state. I could take the exam in Alaska and transfer it over in theory, but I doubt most recruiters would go for that idea.

Here’s what I’m thinking:

1. Core CompTia certa-> Sec+
2. Seek first Cy Sec. position
3. CySA+ ->Azure Security Certs
4. Transition into cloud security position

Does this make sense, or is it to much/ to little?
