Need help with salary expectations, please. Interviewing with Aon/WTW/Mercer for lead/senior associate type roles in their Rewards consulting practices (have 3 years of relevant Human Capital consulting experience, an advanced degree and 1 exam from ASA). Is 125k base too steep of an ask (HCoL)? Its on par with PwC base for a Sr Associate but not sure how comp at these other firms compares. Thanks!

like

I’m dealing with an external recruiter for a industry role I’d like to take, we are at salary negotiation stages now and I initially said I would be happy with £85k (pre-interviews), in a later conversation he said the base is £120k + bonuses. He has now said they are offering £85k + bonuses and sign on amounting to around £115k. Do I double down and refer back to the £120k? It’s a massive jump in salary for me but I’m surprised the offer on his end has gone down to what I originally asked for.

Lowe's I’ve interviewed for a few roles at Lowe's and the comp has always been abysmal. However it seems they do a great job in attracting EM/PL level talent from MB.

Enterprise strategy manager was quoted around $90k so how are EM’s going to Sr.D level and it being worth the comp drop?

Have an RSM final interview soon but I lowballed myself during the initial screening, I chocked and said 40-50k for a risk management position in Chicago. If the interview goes well and we get to negotiations , how much should I ask for? I used the Chicago median rent and the 30% rule and my number came to 72k. Would it be outrageous for me to ask for 22k more than I originally said?

Very stressed lately. Dislike my current firm for reasons. Wanting to leave, but have applied to Big 4 public sector for a month without much traction. Initial interviews at all, but that’s about it. Feeling underpaid (110k w/ 4YOE), and want to step into a manager role.

Worried that the economy may influence hiring decisions and I may end up stuck in my current role. Can’t take it anymore here though. 😅 Thoughts? Looking at all options and trying to see the big picture and find some hope.

Bain & Company Have heard that MBB companies are lowering their acceptance rates in view of the economic downturn. Does this mean that it will be harder to pass the stages of the interview (eg tighter resume screening, higher scores needed to pass digital assessments, tougher interviews), or will the standards be the same, just that candidates are being asked to join at a later time. Would really appreciate some insights on this. Thank you! McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company

Anyone familiar with Inspire11? A principal reached out to me to talk about some new opportunities coming up next year. They mentioned private equity work which was interesting to me since from everything I’ve heard PE is very hard to break in to. I’ve got a consulting/management background with currently have very low stress with strong job security but considering moving forward with the interview process. Was hoping to get people’s thoughts on Inspire11 and PE work in general.

Had my exit interview today with my manager

“the friend in me wants you to go and absolutely love it, but the manager in me wants you to go and hate it for 6 months and then message us and ask to come back. I understand if you feel like this is the right change for you and I genuinely hope you love it and feel more passionate about it, but seriously, you always have a spot here at (company), or on my team wherever I go”

How genuine is this? Should I believe it or take it with a grain of salt?
