Has anyone been fired? How’d you bounce back? How did you approach it when applying for new jobs? I’m legitimately worried I’ll be fired and could use some advice.

Hey guys. I have a technical interview with AlixPartners restructuring and turnaround team. This is for their summer intern position. I didn’t come from a restructuring background. Does anyone have an idea of what might get asked in the interview? Is it going to be very restructuring specific or some general accounting/ finance/ operational sides of topics.

Hi guys, I am a systems engg in TCS with 3 years exp. Technologies known: C, C++, Java, COBOL, Oracle DB, SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting.
I had applied for Infosys in the company portal long back, but haven't got any replies yet. I am looking for the Developer/ Production support roles.
And I am in my notice period, lwd is 27th sept.
Also, have an offer from L&T with doj 29th Sept.

It's appalling how bad new associate excel/ppt skills are. There needs to be a way of judging 'readiness' during the interview process.

Hey all, transitioned from the military last spring and got a UX product manager position at a bank.

Pay is good, but missing the mission aspect of work. Have interview offers from Microsoft and Amazon for cleared PM work, but most of them are less product manager work and more adjacent program work.

This might just be grass is greener thinking, but would love to hear if you have made the transition if you enjoy cleared PM work or do you wish you stayed in the non-cleared space?

Recruiter shared post on-site feedback and she mentioned that she would like to do the team match and do 1-2 additional rounds of interviews because the feedbacks now are borderline and have a very low chance of HC. Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid

What kind of questions does a role alignment interview for a Finance+Ops role at tech company entail ? Is it just a fancy name for evaluating prior experience and the behavioral stuff ? Or is there some framework being tested?

Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Currently interviewing at JPMorgan in their CIB division for a associate operations role. Have met with 5 people for two different teams and another person for another team, all of which I believe are 3 total open positions for 3 different teams. Any insight on the interview process or how long it takes or any sort of idea to give me on what I could look for that might help me believe I might get an offer? How high does L6 range typically go for Sr Program Manager roles? I am currently at ~250k TC and the position they were interviewing me for hand a max range of 200k TC. Is >300k TC possible?

I had recently attended the interview at IQVIA for sql developer position, but when I received the offer letter the designation mentioned there is "Software engineer- technical operations 130'.

Just wanted to know if this is some kind of a production support role.

I feel like all of my friends who work in tech are very open about their starting salaries and the increases each year. I am going to work in public accounting and I feel like when I look up how much I will make after being promoted or early promoted it’s very cryptic. Can anyone tell me the standard salary % increase in PA after your first, second, third promotion?

Do you ever just stop and think how we’ve made up this society with items and things of monetary value rather than live peacefully and the fact that we’re too absorbed with our own lives to stop and think of how if we did it together we could actually do it? 🙃

15 years experience interviewed for BA4 grade in Barclays. Does it make sense? I thought BA4 is below manager grade and lower salaries.

Off the topic.. being in IT field and living in Bangalore, what do you think is best renting a house or opting for a home loan and paying similar emi for 20 years?
