KPMG folks - how much time does it typically take from Manager to SM / Director in advisory if I join as an experienced manager from another big 4? Is it worth trying to negotiate for a Director role?

Visa friends! Had an interview in London, got the verbal, and am doing the visa dance. Started the process 2 weeks ago with HR and now they've ghosted me since then, though they said I have stuff to fill out ASAP. Normal? And am I too American pushy if I reach out to the hiring manager (and my future team) for an update instead?

The current role looks like a longer term role but we have projects significantly closer to home which I am interested in, and it will help me spend more time on a budding relationship that is getting more serious in my personal life.
