What's your dream exit career post-consulting? 👑 Also OK if you want to stay the partner/MD track. What are you doing to get there?

Thoughts on moving from Accenture to IBM? Currently a Senior Manager and being recruited for an Associate Partner role. ~40k bump in pay.

An EY delivery center recruiter passed my resume on to a partner in strategy at a diff location last week because they’re interested in me but my salary req was out of range (I didn’t realize it was a delivery center role when I applied). Haven’t heard anything more yet. How long should I wait before following up again (sent a thank you note the day I chatted with the recruiter).

Did anyone work in gartner consulting? How is the Associate director role and how many levels in between to reach partner/principal

Hi everyone! Posting obo my partner who is freelance and was just offered a 6 mo Story AP position contract. He’s been out of the game for a while so before he discusses pay, I am curious if anyone has any salary/pay rate insights based on the current market? This is based out of LA. His last role was also an AP position and was $1500 a week— that pay was from a year ago. He has about 2.5 years experience. Any help is appreciated!

Advice needed- I may have an exit out of ID into defense side Labor and employment with some commercial litigation. Right now I’m handling complex, multimillion dollar defense claims, and feel pretty comfortable with 5ish years of experience, minimal partner involvement but next to no Biz Dev prospects as my firms already works for every carrier I know. Making hours is easy.
Any downsides to making the switch that I should be aware of?

Any federal partner managers in this bowl for systems integrators or tech companies (think AWS, Salesforce, Microsoft)? Curious what salaries are for people in this role as there isn’t a ton of data for this job title specifically. Looking for salary numbers and YOE. TIA!

What does a creative resource manager do? I just got hired at a big agency. I met my team, including my partner and my CD & ECD, who hired me. But later in the day someone stop by at my desk & said he is a creative resource manager & my supervisor who gives me assignments & approve my time offs. During my hiring process & orientation day everyone said my CD is my supervisor who assign me projects & approve my time offs. Did he do a Power move on me? I will be nice but didn’t like the attitude!

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

I'm starting month 5 at my firm & it's been VERY slow. I'm barely hitting 100 hours a month. While I enjoy taking it slow because I'm burnt out, I'm very concerned that I won't even meet my prorated annual billables. I ask for work & have been told I'm gonna get super busy but it hasn't happened. They say we have work & are hiring 1-2 new attorneys yet I don't get work. I'm not sure what to do or make of this. Hi. I have 20+ years of experience both in consulting and in-industry. I have a contact at McKinsey that I connected with that is willing to make an introduction/referral for me. A few questions: 1). What level should I be targeting. I’m willing to take a lateral to a degree because. . .well, it’s McKinsey, but I don’t want to come in too low salary wise and somehow undercut the value of the experience and the roles I’ve already held (VP/DVP). As such - is Associate Partner too low? 2….

Is anyone very afraid of graduating from mid-level to “senior?” I feel like the lateral market is not as great for seniors and looking to lateral at years 7+ seems like you are just leaving bc you won’t make partner, and if you do leave the partner clock starts all over again. Are there better exit options as a senior from litigation to in house?

If you could work for any company in the world, which would it be?

Have an opportunity to do an externship and my partner sponsor will work with account leadership to do it pretty much anywhere.

Curious what other people would do and how you would think about it.

I work in product management and am 2.5 years out of UG, thinking big tech is probably the best bet. Good education and sets me up for an exit there in the future.

Going rate for senior tech consultants who specialize in Microsoft Cloud - specifically M365 services?

I'm close to accepting a role as Sr. PM / Engagement Manager for a large SI's Msft Practice in the upper $100K range. But just got a call from a recruiter at a Msft Gold Partner who, when I said I'd be looking for $200K+ literally answered "that wouldn't be a problem, we are desperate to fill this position". Should I accept 1st role and interview for 2nd? (start date is weeks out)

Am interviewing for a director, product role at a SaaS unicorn fintech. Currently a principal/associate partner in a boutique strategy firm, have 16 years of total work experience. Would you know if I am interviewing at the right level? (Still learning how the levels in a product organization match against consulting levels). Any pointers?

Does anyone knows what is the compensation range for Associate Partner/ Principal role at EY? Thanks I’m advance.

Anyone ever been in a position where the client doesn’t follow any of your firm’s recommendations and your Partner proposes scaling back the project team in the interim? PPMD wants me on another busy project and the main goal is getting the client to agree to this. Any advice?

Interviewing for a role I am qualified for. During the second round of interviews (4.5 hours) one partner could not make his time slot. The firm now wants to schedule a third round of interviews with the partner that missed his time and at the request of one of the interviewers in my second round, multiple other folks I’d be directly working with for a robust 2 hours+ third round. Any reason they’d add the new interviewers other than doubting my candidacy?

Work at firm not bad for NY. Up 4 partnership this year and based on reviews and formal/informal feedback, should make partner this year. One issue is that I got staffed onto a nightmare client last quarter that is making me miserable. Can’t rotate off & stuck with client at least for 6 more months. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had in big law. Thinking about quitting bt I feel crazy 4 leaving partnership on the table (4 exit reasons only). But I dread each day now. What would u do?

Hi all, looking for some advice and information. Been offered a role at McK as a senior solutions leader (I think this is equivalent to associate partner).. how does progress look in this role and how is it viewed compared to the general consulting track?

I’ve been at Deloitte for 6 months. Received an offer for similar TC plus RSUs. Role seems very interesting and an exciting company experiencing a lot of growth. Is it too soon to jump? I don’t really enjoy my current role and don’t think I’m in it to become partner.

i’m in the commercial litigation group at my firm and thinking about moving to L&E. the partners in L&E give me much more work and it’s radio silence from Lit partners. i’ve been at this firm 6 months & i’m a 4th year. Is making the transition a good idea? i want to keep my options open for an in house position in the future just in case i don’t make partner

The lead partner and I were supposed to connect a few weeks back but we were never able to. My issue is that I've already essentially followed up twice. Am I overthinking it now that a few weeks have passed or
should I contact recruiting or another partner to help facilitate things?

Could any architects at AWS elaborate on the differences between an enterprise sa vs a partner sa vs a specialist sa vs a startup sa? Are they all at the same pay grade level? Is there a more junior sa role that you start out at and then you get promoted to one of the more specialized sa roles?

Currently a manager at a B4 AWM tax group mostly focusing on private equity fund, k1s, estimates and such. I always thought if i exit, it would be for an in-house role at a private equity fund and frankly wanted to test out if I can stay and make a partner one day. I want to understand the nuances of that decision but I can’t find much data. Thoughts?
