Joined a project as PMO analyst a week ago but another SM reached out for a way better role (not PMO) doing what I want. Is that opportunity lost?

An SM I worked with in the past works very closely with the VP of a tech company's division I am really interested in. Should I discuss my desire to land a role at the other company with her?

Took a role at a family office last year working directly for a billionaire. Really regretting it now because I trusted his “discretionary bonus” and got screwed on comp (20% bonus despite good review - he doesn’t want to pay market). I don’t see a future working here and have been interviewing for a few months but it’s hard to make my way back to an institutional firm. I feel sick every day I go into work because I think I’ve derailed my career. 6 YOE with prior exp at a well-known SM HF.

Experienced hire Manager here, informed before Christmas that I’ll be taking another lap but not because of performance (5/5 on scats and all operating at next level) or metrics (22mm in MR) but the only reason is I need more time in the “saddle”… During this time, I’ve been replying to recruiters and after a PPMD interview last week, I was offered an SM role at a smaller firm with a base pay increase of 45% (225k) over my current salary. Very much considering this… thoughts?

If you were SM / AP level and going to a large PE portco how much equity would you need for a VP level role if they asked you to take a base pay cut down to $200k?

For a SM tax position offer, do you typically see a signing bonus? Or do you see those at just lower levels with new hires?

Hey Guys. Hoping to get some advice here. I am currently a Senior Manager at CapTech with 12 YOE, all in consulting. I have been with CapTech specifically for 7 years doing a bunch of different things from developing ETL pipelines to analytics and dashboarding. My most recent role was more in product analytics where I feel like I have really grown from ‘just a BI developer’ to a data product owner like role. Right now my base is at 130K. Looking at data on Glassdoor this seems low. Thoughts?

I made it clear that I have been a senior manager in the past, and wouldn’t take a more junior position than that. The recruiter said the seniority can be defined later, and we should just talk. For more senior MBB folk (SM/EM/PL+) who exit to (non-technical) FAANG roles, do you need to be in the tech practice or does it not matter?

Just got a verbal offer as a Senior Manager at a B/C round startup. Role would be in Product Strategy for their key product (Hardware) in a hot field. Would be based in NYC. Offer is 170k + equity which is currently being decided - was only told it would be sizeable.

Currently have 5 YOE. To complicate things I also got accepted to MIT Sloan. Is this a fair offer, and good enough to skip MBA?
