Folks who jumped from consulting to industry - does 160k base with 20% bonus seems like a reasonable offer for a senior manager role ? No rsu etc ..

Would you choose to stay as a senior manger in consulting with your firm or get a director role in industry if you had the choice and all of else was equal?

Hey Guys. Hoping to get some advice here. I am currently a Senior Manager at CapTech with 12 YOE, all in consulting. I have been with CapTech specifically for 7 years doing a bunch of different things from developing ETL pipelines to analytics and dashboarding. My most recent role was more in product analytics where I feel like I have really grown from ‘just a BI developer’ to a data product owner like role. Right now my base is at 130K. Looking at data on Glassdoor this seems low. Thoughts?

Idk what to do. Manager position at Deloitte in high net worth private client services or go into corporate - blue cross blue shield tax manager making 130k in low cost of living Place. Mom of 3 kids and husband is a doctor what would you do? To me it sounds like blue cross doesn’t have any downtime during the year so for flexibility public accounting is probably better I am guessing. I currently work at EY as a senior about to be promoted to manager in the next couple months.

Is $80K in NYC for a senior analyst role (3 YOE) fair?

How many audit busy seasons do you need to switch from audit to FDD. My recruiter is telling me I need “two full years” to switch into a Senior role. “One full year” to switch into a experienced associate role. Is this true? I thought we just needed two busy seasons to switch into A senior role?

Title question: Recently I applied to a Senior Data Scientist role, however the title when HR reached out was Senior Analyst, Data Science. They do refer to it as a data scientist, so my question is: is that how it normally is- the title is “analyst”, “manager”, etc and the team is Data Science?

Anyone had a FAANG company try to mislead you in applying for a role you’re overqualified for, hoping you’ll jump just for the name? I was approached by Apple for a channel sales role. I made it clear that I have been a senior manager in the past, and wouldn’t take a more junior position than that. The recruiter said the seniority can be defined later, and we should just talk. Considering making a switch from practicing as a big law corporate senior associate (7th year) to a (non-practicing) practice manager role at another big law firm, primarily for lifestyle change. Other than the pay cut, anyone have insights or made this switch? Thoughts on whether it would difficult to transition back to practice (either in-house or big law) a few years from now if I want to practice again? Would my only exit opps. be to to similar practice management roles at other firms?

For more senior MBB folk (SM/EM/PL+) who exit to (non-technical) FAANG roles, do you need to be in the tech practice or does it not matter?

Would anyone be able to provide some insight on how a person who has over a decade of experience working in CPG as a senior leader can pivot into a similar role in tech? My wife is a respected senior manager working in an industry where she has vast experience developing physical products (ie. It checks all my boxes but I’m worried about being pigeonholed in compliance and not being competitive for legal roles down the line. In practice, this job would involve both legal and compliance work but I’d sit in compliance. Has anyone had any issues going from a compliance role to a legal role, particularly in healthcare?

Exiting for a less senior role with better TC? Currently a SM managing a product/ analytics team at an f500. Want to break into tech in a similar role but striking out on lateral applications. Considering taking an IC role to get my foot in the door and work back but not sure if I’m giving up too easily.
