Hi guys, I saw some reviews about Cisco, saying they have layoff every year? Is that true? I know tech industry is having hiring freeze here and there. Is that the same with Cisco?

I am part of a recent acquisition in professional services at Salesforce and my role changed from people management with no utilization to billable but I’m on the bench. I wasnt looking to leave consulting and we are very slow but I’m low in the chain now and can’t do anything to grow our pipeline. Going crazy To stay busy. I know I should enjoy getting paid to hang out but I’m very anxious and getting concerned I may be laid off. Should I go to another firm or wait it out?

Would DEI hires be less at risk of layoffs or getting fired? Genuinely curious and not trying to start a war here.

I keep hearing about layoffs and I’m terrified. I’m a new campus hire and although I am on a project and I work hard, I just don’t know that much stuff. I’m trying my best to learn but I always feel like I’m not good enough and I’ll get fired any second now.

Have an upcoming meeting with the partner who hired me, really thinking about letting them know I’m interested in switching service lines. Can I be fired or punished for this?

PSA. Zendesk is going through another round of layoffs.

People are fired up about pronouns.
I’m fine with it if it makes others more comfortable.
But why 3? Are there cases where they don’t agree, e.g., he/ her/ its?
Maybe there would be more acceptance if we made he whole thing more efficient?

Anybody ever successfully get their client fired? (intentionally or unintentionally) Not fire them as a client but for them to lose their job. I'm so fed up with the workplace harassment, aggressive and abusive behavior towards my team that I want to just completely report this behavior to client HR. Have all these examples well documented, just wondering if this is a better path to go down... Can't stand to work with this insecure grifter anymore.

Trying to figure out if I’m about to get fired… worked on a reallllly hard high profile case - for months of 12+ days in a row; and got a review that rated me uncoachable and “would not work with this person again.” I did so much hard work but miscommunication with my director felt like it overshadowed everything.

EY & PWC: Thinking to target Manager, but not sure of levels. 2 YOE FS Consulting (strategy & tech transformation) with prior 8-9 YOE fintech, consumer banking, project management. Most recent 2 years started a career coaching business after COVID layoff and running into freezes. Again looking to return to consulting with all of these skills. Initially into FS, then later move into People work.

Looking at number of BIEs Amazon is hiring, I have a question. Would it suddenly layoff BIEs cuz its scary where every morning I see atleast 10 people joining Amazon as a BIE!

Capgemini has started to do layoffs.

I have worked at a boutique firm for the past couple of years and the lack of talent and competency across team members is astounding. I have worked on a contract where 2 people hired into a SENIOR role were fired for incompetence within the past 6 months. Do you all think that this is less of an issue at larger firms? I cannot comprehend why incompetent people are hired and why it takes so long for them to be fired.

What’s this weird culture that recruiters love their job but then are the first people to get laid off during company cuts

Aside from the base salary, what’s the bonus? I mean, I have it in the offer but they’ve mentioned that it is the minimum bonus and I could earn more. Wanted to get an understanding of the average %.

Also, are there any other obvious perks that I should be considering while making the decision?

Lastly, should I be worried about switching when there are so many layoffs happening in bigger companies + the recession we might be hitting?

After 25 years working for an organization I was laid off and I started working as a consultant for TKE system .
- I really love the work I do in the company I am assigned to provide services but I confess my concern is lack of “stability “ working as a consultant.
Can anyone that work as a consultant tell me the pros and cons you see ? Do you work only as a contractor can you share your insights?
