I’m having the hardest time finding a new job. I have 12 years of HR experience, a masters in HR, SHRM certification, and all I keep getting are rejection emails. I’ve never experienced this difficult of a time searching for new opportunities. Is this normal once you hit a certain level in your career or is it just me?

Does anyone have a MBP with Touch Bar for a personal laptop? What do you use the bar for? I spent good money for that bar and almost 3 years later I have barely used it.

Any agencies out there give good bonuses?

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

Do you look for your gut to tell you if a job is the right job?

He asked for a bite of sandwich to feed them both as they hadn’t eaten in days. I gave the whole sandwich over and headed off to the interview. As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat. Truly inspirational when you work hard

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

So really the only exercise I can tolerate is boxing, and those exercises around it. Any thoughts on replicating what I can find at my local boxing gym while on the road?
