Has anyone transitioned from direct sales to indirect (channel, solutions consulting, etc.)? I’m an Enterprise AM currently (6+ years of total closing experience in SaaS) but looking to make a change sometime in the next 18-24 months. Certainly expecting to sacrifice financial upside but growing tired of the grind.
It feels weird posting a LinkedIn post in FishBowl, but I found this post from Jamal very insightful. I would have just copied the text, but I want to give him credit.
Looking to resign tomorrow. My direct manager has been out sick but the head of my team is in. He hired me initially before we hired my current direct manager. Does it matter who I resign to? I don’t want to disrespect anyone but also I am trying to resign before they lay me off and tomorrow the head of our team placed an early morning mtg. Smells like a lay off…

I just want advice. I work 50 hours a week and my partner is a stay at home dad. He does great. But I hate my job and hate being away from my kid so much. I’ve made 53 this year so far and we are behind on bills and can’t afford daycare. I just read something that said being a mom was more important than the job and that’s true. But what if your job is what your family is depending on?
Firm apparently decided to tell a class of 7-8 first years that even though they all hit hours they won’t get the promised raise or bonus this year because there will be an opportunity for an even bigger bonus next year … I don’t think the partners realize they are literally all going to leave. As a senior should I be worried out our solvency ?

I know that student loan forgiveness is only for those with an AGI of $125k. I’m reading an article that says you may be eligible if your income was in that threshold for 2020 OR 2021. Let’s say i was below the threshold in ‘20 but crossed it in ‘21. Am I eligible?
Any tips on how best to go about asking for a raise? Or how to even set that meeting up without causing a stir. I feel confident that I’m owed a good $30k raise and can defend that. But I am a little worried. Seems possible that as soon as I even ask my boss (equity partner) for a meeting to discuss my salary and future goals he may just call me straight in his office and want to shoot it down. Also, I like my firm and don’t intend to leave if I don’t get my ask, at least not anytime soon.
I got 2 offers and I have 3 days remaining of Notice Period.

I’ve been dating someone for about 6 wks. After talking about places on our bucket list, he suggested we plan a weekend trip. Sort of in the dark on how to best approach this with a new significant other. Do we discuss a budget or should I just assume he’ll front the bills?? I don’t have hard figures but assume he makes 3-4x what I make (both of us being 6 figures). TIA! Any general suggestions for a first trip are also very much welcomed!
Ive accepted an offer going from a SM role to M role at EY in the CCas team , London office. Can anyone confirm how often one needs to come into the office, as my commute is from Hampshire . In my current role I rarely go to the office, i.e once every few months (also in London) and am considering backing out due to the additional commuting cost and less flexible work life balance.
Got covid this week and haven’t been able to work for a couple days. Feeling really guilty about the additional load on my team and worried of how much I’ll have to work this weekend/next week to make it up.
Any tips to manage this or to get better faster?
I am staying at Cambria this week for like 5 days. Any way I can request a larger/better room?
