I really think most reviews these days are motivated by revenge. People have one bad experience, or they make a mistake themselves that they have to pay for, and they just let all hell break loose on the company that they're dealing with. I don't trust the review system as a customer now.
Exactly! It's so aggravating, and completely unfair to my manager and the company.
Ugh, Yelp is the worst. If I were your manager (or maybe you can even log into the company account), I'd call her out. I'd straight up respond to her review something like, "Hmmm, seems a little targeted. Karen, you know you never put in that order!"
Truthfully, not a bad idea!
Reach out to the customer. The first step is to try to understand why the customer is upset. Maybe they did place an order and it was lost. Maybe they had a different experience than they described in their review. By reaching out to them, you can try to resolve the issue and get them to remove the review.
I hate that people also only leave reviews when they have bad experiences. which they usually exaggerate
If your Yelp page is lacking reviews maybe post a sign asking for customers to review? Regulars will post good reviews that will help even out the bad review she left.
