How long do you wait on a planned call for a Director or MD to join? I've noticed they tend to be at least 5 mins late but mostly almost 10. Please respect my time if I respect yours!!

I was called into HR because a coworker overheard a conversation between me and another colleague taking about cable/streaming shows that we watched or recorded. I mentioned that I recorded a few true-crime shows. My colleague jokingly said, "I hope I'm not on your hit-list!". I replied, "Not anymore." HR pulled me in to say a coworker complained about me talking about hit-lists, and they were now scared. HR wouldn't say who complained, so do I have a right to ask about the resolution to this?

No one has an office, much less an assistant. Creative and account are different jobs with their own dress codes. But dumb, off brief ideas by white creatives do win.

My boss (atty) is so disorganized! I’ve been with him 6 months and he’s having a hard time delegating, sharing info and managing deadlines. I’ve organized the caseload to manage the deadlines. He says he wants me to help with discovery but when I offer to start on one, he says he needs to do it. (Since he might have to present as evidence) When I give him deadlines and ask for the docs he says he’ll get to it. It’s a small 1 man firm, and I’m the first assistant besides his wife. Any advice?

Any one works in a one man / one woman tax department? How do you effectively manage the relationships with outside tax providers, and with accounting/finance department inside of the company? I have multiple weekly calls with different teams from our CPA firm, with accounting/finance team inside, I tend to address issues as they arise. I was told I have been managing well, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
