Anyone else in the same boat…. Wife and parents don’t seem to see eye to eye on really anything. Wife tries to play nice when they come to visit but I’m always stuck in the middle of and always end up pissing off one of them. Can’t play peacemaker for ever but want my parents to see their grandkids.

Put them up in a hotel instead of staying in the house to create more personal space, with added bonus that your kids can go swim at the hotel!

Totally agree D2. They are still having an adjustment with having one grandkid and now that they have two, it’s been difficult to adjust.

Are you me?

Any examples you can share of how you get stuck in the middle?

Following. In a similar boat.

Feel the same way EY2

I wish if my wife would disagree with her parents. My wife always seems to please her parents and always agree with them and I’m left alone. Happens a lot with topics involving kids.

I went through my gf’s phone and found out she had a crush on my best friend when we first started dating (over a year ago). Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

Does ADHD have a big impact on your memory? It feels like if I don't have constant reminders set or leave notes for myself I can forget ANYTHING even if it's really important to me. I think it's making my partner feel like I don't remember the things they say or don't care to listen. What can I do?? Not on medication but if it helps with this I'd take it.

Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. What do y’all think?

I am having an offer from a company for an senior software support profile with 15 fixed+1. My future aspirations are Devops. I have also received a counter from TCS for 12 CTC. Should I join on senior support role and then switch for Devops after preparation or should I stay back in TCS for some time and switch after preparation? In TCS my designation is system engi.

Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.
