My dad is on FMLA leave now for mental health now and he has mentioned that people spend time speculating why he's out. Not that that should deter you at all, but people will talk.
I told my team it was mental health related. They were so supportive. And so was HR. They were just concerned with my overall well being. I went on short term disability so was still getting paid. I just needed to prove that I was getting medical attention during my period out and that the doctor agreed that I should be out of work

I agree with EY4. I 100% would not judge you, but a lot of people here are so competitive and two faced. They are very judge mental. Some people might not judge but a lot of people will.
