Hello! I’m an LMSW in Michigan with 15 years experience in the field doing case management, supervision, and administrative roles. All of my experience has happened in the CMH or VA health system, so needless to say, I am feeling burned out. I have flirted many times with private practice therapy work, but never taken the plunge due to concern about healthcare benefits from my spouse. Is it worth it to make the change? Are we overthinking it?

Worked public in Canada for a long time, then dabbled in private. I’m now looking at going full private as an LCSW in California. I can spend a solid 4 hours a day client facing and 2 hours prep and go surf or climb before and after sessions and make more than a 10 hour day at a gov’t job. Sitting around in an office all day seems like a 1990s pop up video when I work remotely from home and see patients. Best of luck! I’ll be going on my wife’s benefits personally

Do it. You’ll never look back. Get paneled in insurance.

Hi all! I need some candid advice from y'all. How do I get my manager to see my value and see that I'm actually doing a lot of work? For some reason all the other departments & teams I work with always say how grateful they are that I've joined the company because I've really been cleaning things up & making their lives way easier. But for some reason in my manager's eyes all I do is "meets expectations". I already am doing senior level work as the only senior on our team left a month in... (1)

I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct. Role is 50/50 hybrid, pays well vs what I make, and most importantly would be a foot in the door to PM. Is this a good place to be for PM? What else do I need to find out to know for sure?
