Hi I was offered a job at a Credit Union in Florida. Job title HR Specialist/ Recruiter salary $48k and 70% of my job scope is recruiting. Seems very low.
Help!! Need advice. I want to take the position for experience. I plan on getting my SHRM-CP end of year.

Even for Florida, that’s low. Do you receive a bonus?

like

No I do not.

That's very low. I've made nothing under $70K. I only accept remote however, nothing onsite. Also, I have no degree either. In Orlando area.

like

Very low. I have a recruiter in Ohio making $62 and she only has 2 years experience. I wouldn’t take less than $58k

like

Definitely counter offer. That’s too low. Know your worth. Don’t be afraid to turn down an offer until the right one comes around. Good Luck!😉

like

Which part of FL? I don’t know the average pay for your specific job description, but $48k would be low in my area (Tampa/St Pete).

like

Jacksonville.

So so low

like

This does seem low are you receiving a commission for the people you place?

like

It’s still a candidate market and if you can afford it keep looking.

like

Don't be afraid to ask for more. Know your worth! The worst thing that can happen is them saying and if that happens you can keep looking. You don't want to low ball yourself because it will be hard to increase your salary later with the company.

like

That is very low. I would ask for closer to 60k.

like

That’s very low.

Yes, I’d have to agree that that’s extremely low. You should counter offer/negotiate between $55-$58K.

Entry level these days should be minimum $55-$60K FL is not cheap anymore because of all the West Coast folks moving into the state. If you solely want experience and can't find other opportunities, take it and keep looking.

The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). I am not from the US and taxes overwhelm me; the first few years I did them with TurboTax and it was fine but then I entered a domestic partnership and had a baby. I also bought a house (that I don’t live in), so I went to H&R Block to give it a try assuming they could advise me on optimizing my return, it seemed that they are completely transactional as the person is just typing numbers in a form. Hey Dallas folks!

I want to get to know the local private companies. I worked at a private company with 2-3k employees before my MBA. They had an amazing culture, but limited progression opportunities. I'm thinking about looking for a smaller company (couple hundred to couple thousand employees) in the Dallas area and looking to find an amazing culture.

Anyone have recommendations on companies with great cultures in the Dallas/north of Dallas areas? (I live in the Plano/Allen/Mckinney area)
