Well being a ex puddle pirate(USCG). It was a matter of timing. We would tie up in oh... let's say Mayport for fire fighting school and coincidentally a 26 ship carrier group is getting underway. From 1000 to1500 you might see 10,000 teary eyed wives and girlfriends in cutoffs and sweatshirts. At 1900 you may well see ½ or ⅔ in their little black dress and come f*** me pumps at base club. If all things work out while on shore leave you engage in a deep and meaningful one night stand.

Met my wife in college. Got married the same weekend as commissioning and graduation.
Congratulations!
Lived in a house with 3 roommates. She came to visit a roommate. I took her out, been together since. Married 13 years.
MySpace. So a mutual friend then, right Tom?
Bar.
She grabbed my shoulder from behind and asked me to dance.
What she didn't realize is that I thought someone was trying to fight me (I was very drunk) so as I was being turned around I had a fist swinging to knock this dude out.
Fortunately I realized it was not a dude trying to fight, stopped and played it off like I was scratching my head and said yes.
Got married 2 years later, been married 10 years now.
We were both drunk enough to think so I guess 🤣
I met my ex husband in the military. We were both Army. It didn't last long. I've been with my current person for 15 years. We met on MySpace of all places.
2 individuals in the Army in a relationship does not fraternization make. Add a rating chain and you have problems.
Meet my husband in the military different battalions going on 32 years. A roller coaster type of lifestyle.
Really? That’s a pretty nasty question. Maybe… they served together. Maybe they were married before serving. Maybe he was a waiter and she (as a soldier) asked him out, or Vice versa.
Obviously not a veteran to ask this question. Also- so what if they did? It has no effect on your life. If I met a serious nice guy at a strip club and we ended up having a solid relationship, it still has no impact on your life.
Met my wife in college, got married 3 months later. That was 35 yrs ago.

Met my ex in the Army. She later decided Army was more important to her than family.
As my old Drill used to say, “so I had to DX that b$$$h.”

We were Os. We had a plan to refrad. She decided to abstain and deploy while we had a newborn and relationship was in a very fragile state. She’s still in.
Met in the Army, both active duty. Didn’t work out, divorced after 10 years. Never thought I’d end up with a civilian but here we are!
Never been married or engaged. What is it like?
