How have you handled a coworker who asks for your advice, but ignores most of it only to come back with the same (if not worse) issue?

OMG all the time. Its always the same coworker over and over. They complain you give them solutions and they never follow through.

Give them the same advice and continue to apologize for their frustration. You can only give advice. You can't control whether they take it!

Idk If I agree with this for sure. I am way more direct and honest with my coworkers (with politeness and tact of course). If I were in this situation (which so far I haven't been), I would try to address the person by asking if they've tried any of the advice I've previously given them. I might also let them know that it's hard to give advice to people who don't seem to take it in (I'd word this a bit better obviously). Honesty is the best policy!

I try to be as sympathetic as possible when a coworker comes to me with the same issue. I recently had a coworker who was struggling with the same issue, so I shared my own experience in the same situation and offered to help in any way I could. It was up to them to take my advice and find a solution that worked for them, but I was there to lend an ear and offer support.

It's not your fault you tried to help, and all your assistance was ignored. You've done your part.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Need advice & perspectives: I got a verbal review from my manager saying he couldn’t see me as senior cuz I didn’t follow the design doc format he mandates from all designers. While I have been the only designer who does almost everything from design, UI asset creation, wiring up UI in Unity (I am in mobile gaming).
Also the product I’m on has been in MVP stage, things move extremely fast and design decisions changed constantly. He’s not on my team.
Am I crazy for thinking him a bad manager?
