In my early to mid-50’s. I’ve never stayed in a single team/company longer than 3-4 years - it gets tedious and boring and my creative juices start itching. At a stage now where the itch is starting again but I really want to “settle down” somewhere for the rest of my career. But I also know the “itch” will restart in 3-4 years. Wondering what to do.

I’d bite the bullet and stay put. Once your retirement plans are firmly in place then you can consider a final move.

The real key is what age you plan to retire from the rat race. If you are looking at less than 5 years, it may be time to settle down, suppress the itch, and be slightly bored for a few years. I know that sounds depressing, but at our age, we have fewer opportunities than those younger people.
If you're looking at closer to 10 years, then you probably can make one more change.

I have a couple of years to go and changed jobs 4 years ago, but I needed to eliminate a lot of work history & education dates to land interviews.

Dang - I didn’t even think of the dates on education part. Thanks for sharing your experience
