If I could ever stop being laid off, maybe!
7 times in 20 years. Always budget cuts. Over it!
Save what you can, but as a cushion for emergencies and not a nest egg for early retirement. In my professional life I have endured two lengthy periods of unemployment that required me to withdraw what I had saved for retirement with those companies and spend almost all of it both times before landing my next job. Those are years of accumulation that can't be recovered in this job unless I put over half of the paycheck into savings. I'm afraid the mortgage bank, car loan holder, insurance companies, utility companies and grocery stores aren't willing to help me make that possible.
I think it’s all about priorities. And saving, so you budget, coupon anything like that will help too.
I want to retire early but have all those things LOL
I'm attempting to. But I know it won't be easy. I'm also dealing with high living costs. The key I think is to move to a cheaper area. I live in the city and its killing my savings.
