State your interests and past experiences you bring to the table. Passion in your work coupled with the necessary skills is a great match.

Make sure you position it as what you can bring to the table. You won't get staffed based on your passion for the role. You will get staffed based on the value you can bring to the project.

If a firm is interested, do next steps in the hiring process generally come pretty quickly? I had an interview with my dream firm last week and it went about as perfect as it could, at least from my perspective. I reached out to the recruiter (in house) afterwards to say thanks for organizing and to ask for a timeline on the next steps. She said maybe she will know something over the next couple of weeks. I can't help to think that if they wanted me, they wouldn't want me to have the (cont.)
