Hello All, I have offer in hand of 27.5 LPA+15% variable from ZS Associates as a BT Solutions delivery consultant and now my current company is ready to retain me by matching the offer & assuring that they will send me onsite to UK in couple of months. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do as I have been looking for onsite opportunities for my entire career so far. Kindly share your thoughts. You’ve got this! 🤗 💪🏻
I would suggest pursing Life & Health license, not P&C. Life & Health will open more doors besides insurance; especially if you want to switch to healthcare which can be lucrative. P&C will pigeon hole you.
The test is super easy, it’s like a 2-3 day class. Understand that insurance is ALL commission and you have to build your own book of business. Once you get your license people will start stalking you to hire you.
In the past (when I took it) the companies were typically funding a paid two week training and then purchasing the license for several states. The only thing the test really requires is memorization of facts…. But there are a lot of facts! I would recommend actually studying. Commission structure for L/H lines is better short term, you get a larger percentage up front. (But less in residuals for retained customers… so as stated above, yes, would be better if you plan to career pivot in the future.) But in general L/H is more lucrative in the long term. You won’t make as much the first few years, but the residuals are so good that with consistent work you can easily make more than an L/H agent long term. Hope this helps! :) Check out Polly. I used to work for them back in the day and know the current HR director. DM me if you’d like an introduction!
Whoops, I typod the second L/H, but of course, that should have been P/C
I sell P/C only and how lucrative it is depends on your niche. If you sell personal lines it’s not as lucrative as commercial lines. The riskier the more lucrative
I agree as well, I think life and health will definitely be the better option and there's more opportunity there...
Thank you to everyone that has replied! The potential job requires both P&C as well as the L&H. It's something that I definitely think I'm going to pursue and I have my fingers crossed that I pass the tests!
