Looking for advice: I have a hearing impairment and have been struggling to hear over zoom calls and in person meetings with masks on. I have been looking for a simple sound amplifier with noise canceling that will connect over Bluetooth so I can use it in everyday conversations with masks and over zoom or on my phone. I almost self harmed but stopped by grabbing something strong and drinking it straight. I've calmed down a little but this is the first time I turned to alcohol to cope. As long as I don't mix it with pills it's ok right.... I'm deep in self hate & shame now.

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

I have been laid off going on 3 months now and I’ve never felt so discouraged in my life. This job hunt for me has been frustrating and draining. It really has taken a toll on my mental health and maybe even confidence. I feel like I’m losing momentum. Any advice on staying positive throughout this journey? It’s so hard to stay upbeat and motivated at times.

Something funny happened yesterday. Ordered take out for my family and went to go pick it up. I get there mask on, cold, my jacket is zipped to my nose. I'm like I'm here to pick up. He's like"how are you". Im like good. Then he's like"you're not going to ask me how I am". I'm like "sorry, how are you". He said he's good. Then her offers me some tea and was like drink this. Hi.. I’m really struggling lately with stress and anxiety. I’ve always had depression but it’s been more maniac and often manageable. I’m at my breaking point now and don’t know what to do. I made an appt with my doctor (PA) tomorrow. Will they prescribe me an anxiety medicine? What should I ask for? I’m looking for something low dose and minimal side effects. Help!!

Does anyone here do OTF for weight loss? 29F, need to lose ~50lbs and have been doing IF, low carb, high protein diet. Wondering if OTF is enough to get me started. Need to get into an exercise routine. I need the motivation of a class, group etc and don’t have the motivation to workout alone in a gym. TIA!

Would anyone think it’s weird if someone has a squat rack in their bedroom or office? The past couple days I have been thinking about getting one of those models that folds up against the wall so I can save time commuting to the gym, dealing with crowds, save money in the long run, etc., but I live in apartment so I don’t have a garage to put it in.

Do you know what today is, today is the day I am now allowed back to office as our vaccination requirement was dropped? I still can’t go to our office in NYC and possibly some other jurisdictions and we do need to follow client rules to visit them.

Recently left the Big4 without a job lined up. I’m hearing all my friends talking about busy season woes and I’m so grateful to not be in that position. I keep thinking of the long hours and it’s making me not want to job hunt. I’ve been looking at industry related tax roles, and generally like accounting but am open to exploration. Is there any such role that gives good comp, great work/life balance (I don’t even wanna be near 60 hours), and overall interesting role/company?

Can I just vent on how annoyed I am with the increase in “priority boarding” of people that are able bodied? I am happy to let them on first. But I think they should get off last. So many times they are limping or in a wheelchair boarding. And then when we land that are the first to jump up and scurry off. Just not ethical.

How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.
