Looking for tools to keep communication going with WFH. We're a small company with <50 employees. We're looking for a solution to keep everyone informed. We have slack, and use Jira company wide for project management. But management would like to get daily updates on what people are accomplishing.

Just do weekly huddled across teams. Monday - managers do huddles with their team, and everyone tells 1) what was done last week 2) what are priorities for this week 3) what support they need
Tuesday top management does huddle with management

This seems a little big brother-ish. Are people having trouble meeting deadlines since WFH?

Teams is a great communication and collaboration tool. Video meetings, chats, file storage & collaboration — great productivity tool.

They’re using slack already though.

We do 15 min stand ups with manager each morning. Each of us reports what we completed day before and our goals that day. Sounds big brother but is extremely effective in keeping people on track and meeting goals.

helpful

We did 15 minutes standup calls daily. Reporting what we did yesterday, any obstacles and what we were planning for today. It did help us through a big project, but wasn’t permanent.

Hi all! I'm a fresher, a 2021 IT graduate, currently working as an analyst at Deloitte USI. After spending close to a year in a maintenance project, I'm looking to switch projects. But I'm not sure whether I should stick to SDE/developer roles or go into Data Engineering. Both the fields excite me but I'm a bit confused on what to choose. Does being an SDE give better salary/perks in the long run (like 10-20 years)? Because some say that SDE > DE while some say it is not so. Please be genuine.

I am facing a very difficult situation in my life, after getting rejected in one project interview I have joined a project were most people are from Russia and Belarus or kazakisthan. I had a very small team with just two persons one russian(who took my project interview) and me.Now, he is also leaving EPAM and the client expects me to be his replacement. I feel the project deliverables are too tough for me and since there is no one to ask if I am stuck, what to do ? Wait and watch or ask RM

I am getting married this week with my college sweetheart/Best friend. Even though we were in the same college, I met her on bumble and these 4 years have been amazing. Especially the last 2 years during wfh (luckily our families are from the same city). With WFO starting, we didn’t want to do long distance hence decided to get married. Our families our very happy and so am I. The only thing that is bugging me is that I am really young. I am 25. Should I be worried?

Project just got postponed right after I secured an offer and about go give notice. In this case, do I still have to follow the 2 weeks notice rule of thumb to do KT? Or I should check with the partner in this case? I REALLY DO NOT THINK I need 2 weeks to do KT as we have started rolling people off.
