What’s the salary for S2 audit NYC?
Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

Responsibility level is not even close to the only thing that’s considered when compensation is hammered out. Quite a few SDMs at FAANG make less than the engineers they manage.
What is the difference in salary
Yes, me. My VP told me my direct made more than me shortly after I moved into the role and that this was only going to be the case short term. Internally, I didn't really care that much—my new direct negotiated well when hired. Good for them.
Secondhand, I also heard this happen to another VP, but his direct had rare tech skills that were direly needed, so the VP didn't mind at all.

This happened to me and I didn’t care about the salary. The cost was required to lure this individual from the previous company and honestly the cost of living in their area is higher than mine. The person is highly supportive of my leadership and we are still friends after I left the company.
Since your team member is in a HCOL area while you are in a lower one that makes sense. I live in the same region as this person. In addition he is full time remote while most of my team is hybrid.
